that last post was hilarious...I promise I wont quote the bible. One bad egg does not make a company. There are over 600 of us...to think other reps in other companies havent or still arent doing something similar, is to be naive. For the Stryker guy handing out the newsletter to his hospitals, good luck looking like a little snitch child. My advice to you, take the high road, sell on quality of product and sell yourself/service...Well, in your case, just drop your pants and offer a 45% discount. If anything is a black eye to the trauma realm, its Stryker and their discounting. It truly baffles me. Shitty plates, high discounts, pants dropping bird dogging reps, incomplete trauma line (how do you not have clavicle plates), etc. Embarrassing.
 

You Synthes guys are nothing if not amazing. You love to talk about how Stryker and other companies don't have full trauma product lines as if it really matters. The truth is we have our advantages and you have yours. Our plates admittedly suck but your nails blow. As far as discounting, maybe we are offering customers a fair value and your prices are the ones out of wack. Time will tell but my guess is your discounted prices will look a lot like ours over the months ahead as competition heats up. If you really offer something unique and better you should be able to fetch a premium for it. If not, welcome, you have just entered a commodity market. Looking forward to seeing you sweat at the next negotiation loser.

Now...plating technology and quality/integrity of the plate is a totally different ball game, of which, Stryker does not compete. To compete, however, you must change the game by creating chaos through dropping your pants with discounts. you are changing the market by creating havoc in a time of economic chaos. You will not benefit by this in the end bc there is no way the company can afford to pay those high guarantees, PD costs, and operation costs by giving away the product. No doubt we will adjust our discounting according to the chaos created, but ultimately, Stryker is changing the trauma game by making it a commodity market based solely on price, not technology.

Ok, so this happens in Buffalo and he is a 10 year rep. Wisconsin guy is a 10 year rep who started the same year. Did they know each other or train together??
Wisconsin guy is lucky not to be up on charges too........... Is it just me. Synthes took back the stolen Wisconsin items and resold, is this not worse, technically Synthes was involved right as they handled stolen goods.

Thats why I said a nail is a nail...it should come down to price with nails. But, with plates and screws, technology, quality, and integrity come into play, so it should cost more. You are preying on the whoas of the economy to win business, rather than focusing on selling your service and quality product. selling on price only hurts you in the end, and it is obviously changing the landscape in trauma. Synthes will adapt, and then what for Stryker? When will these new plates be coming out? two years? I wont be working for Synthes at that point, so I could careless...enjoy the nights and weekends youll be working...youll see what its like to get pulled every which way and have no life. And, with all of those discounts youre giving, your profit margin will be lower, thus making less money. In time, Stryker will probably lower your commission structure as well to offset the cost of the heavy discount they give.

Excellent point! Here is a quote out of the Buffalo paper, "The prosecutor also said Synthes, which suspects Raymond sold more products and pocketed that money, has agreed to seek restitution of only $60,000, largely because no records could be found."

"No records" Are you kidding? This river runs deep, compliance needs to be scrutinized, as it seems that this department is set up to assist in cover ups, not prevent them!

You miss the whole point. If business can be gained by simply offering a lower price than the predicate product, in this case Synthes, is priced to high. You have to get used to the fact that your prices and commissions are coming down whether you like it or not. Synthes does not dictate to others how to do business. Agreeing to keep prices artifically high is price fixing and highly illegal. After years and years of aggressive price increases Synthes has priced itself out of reality. Brace yourself, reality is setting in. Game on.

So it was ok to screw the customer when there was no competition and you were teaching them about trauma. Now that there is competiton you coach the opposition on how to discount. You really are the education company. Now it's time for your lesson.

Im talking about the sales process...not what has happened...its a simple business model most companies use!!!!! Stryker on the other hand is simply preying on the economy...you will only hurt yourself in the end...45% or higher in discounting is outrageous!!!! youre the only trauma company doing this...

You could easily back out the name of the criminal from NY and insert hundreds of Synthes sales consultants, past and present, and be journalistically honest. Let's not forget WI and FL. These are not isolated criminal incidents. There is a pattern and Synthes corporate is equally culpable. Gennett has always gone with the notion that these are isolated incidents committed by rouge individuals. I believe that Synthes has always known and condoned these criminal activities. The old "Excess Inventory Exchange Program" encouraged these practices. I clearly remember being at one meeting in particular and hearing Tony Randazzo talk about Synthes having warehouses full of returned Synthes products. Let's not be nieve, we all know where those products came from. It's all stolen and diverted from hundreds of hospitals throughout America. Gennett may have dodged a ball in WI and Daytona, but eventually it will catch up with him and Synthes.
 
Let's get honest. As a Swiss company Synthes rules accounting and finance with an iron fist. They are imfamous for their strongarm collections tactics putting their best customers on credit hold on day 31. They say they care about patients but what they really care about is getting their money. Funny how they can be so fiscally solid but have such lax product exchange policies which allowed reps to exchange hundreds of thousands of dollars of presumed hospital owned inventory on behalf of hospitals without their knowing or involvement. This area is purposely vague and its obvious why. Also, don't forget the grant program where reps order product in the names of hospitals and can use it however they choose. No doubt the company writes it off as a donation to a hospital without any verification the identified hospital (or any hospital) actually received it. An audit would expose this sham as a highly illegal scheme and accounting fraud. Synthes compliance police have shut these practices down in recent years but an IRS audit of their books would reveal years of fraud and abuse.
 
Its one thing to take advantage of a system setup by Synthes, in the exchange program, but its completely different when you defraud a customer and then sell the product on the black market!!!! You guys are going way overboard here. This guy was a ROGUE rep doing ridiculous shit! How many people in Synthes have sold this stuff on the black market?!?! Come on now. Ultimately, it is also the hospitals responsiblity, along with Synthes', to monitor what is coming in and out of the hospital. They do sign that little form, don't they? My hospitals always had someone there with me when I was doing an exchange bc I asked them to. They also had a 0% restocking fee!! All of them do. So where is the fraud??

You really need to get off your high horse. All companies have some real shit bags in them. You keep going and going and going. Here is an example of one of you shit bags stealing. I got called into the purchasing office and asked if it was possible to put 47 screws in a 14 hole Axsos Proximal Tibia Plate. I told them no. When the Materials and OR Director approached the Stryker Reps excuse was that he was sick and made a mistake. It was such a gross example off bill padding that the surgeons were brought into the know. Then the reps story changed that he was trying to recoup implants from a previous case. I am glad that he is my competitor because he is a lazy piece of shit with zero morals and/or ethics.

Shove that up your pipe and smoke it you condescending prick. FYI... It won't be too long that Stryker is kicked out of that level 2 acct and also lose 90% of their Recon business.
 
That is not an example of theft. That is pure stupidity. His parents should be embaresed of how bad a job they did with him. Stealing 1 screw at a time is easy. 47 screws is sad.

You do have to admit that there are not many stories on the competitors boards
