DCS applied to GI/HEP

they passed up great representatives - short sided if you think relationships is all you need.
I had one interview for a rep position and wasn't moved to the 2nd round. The interviewers, seemingly nice people, just wouldn't budge from the Novo STAR format questions and dialogue, seemed to only care about my 'Impact Measures' and what kind of impact I was making on a regional, area and/or nation level. Why we insist on holding on to this interview format is beyond me.

Only novo interviews are degrading like that. Go Interview at other companies. They are way more laid back and conversational, respectful and make the candidate feel comfortable. This place is a horror show. & if your internal, the treat u extra shitty will fact check u

Its funny- I also had an internal interview here just like that not too long ago ( Not for the Hep/GI). It was for an internal promotion, and knew one of the managers well. Still, they treated me like crap, were very combative over everything I said or asked. Perhaps I do not interview well, but I feel like this Novo hiring protocol only wants people who have rehearsed these fake situational examples over and over again. My initial Novo interviews were nothing like this, but that was over 10 years back.

Novo pre determines who they pick on the most part. You could be a great rep with awards and top performance for years and yet still the put people that are not nearly as talented in promotional positions. Very little room to move up in this company unless multiple people have your back.

Ok….so is everything fair….no.

But my experience is if you are willing to put yourself out there, interact with others including managers, and other reps from other regions, you really can go far.

I know this from personal experience. I have tried to share this information but lead a horse to water……

My point, while not fair to amazing reps that aren’t interested/willing to play this game is that you MUST advocate for yourself and it’s not the end of the world. Get your brag book from the 90s interview together!

Step up friends!!
