Dear Finger Pointers

She's not as knowledgeable as she's convinced you she is. It shows. Question is, if Taro has made her anxious and loud does she need outside help? Another thing, does HR even grasp that she can't keep talent, is she the problem? She's a BOSS not a LEADER, look it up there's a difference. That's the problem at Taro, you have a bunch of finger pointing BOSSES no LEADERS. You want to be a BOSS, go become one, a floor FOREMAN at a Southern factory.

The problem with being promoted from within the company several times is that you believe you know everything and consequentially, you think your employees can't do the job as well as you did. Instead of training them properly and supervising their work, you berate them for doing a bad job and then they eventually quit. Any intelligent, hard worker can get promoted, but that doesn't mean he/she can lead. As you stated, they are just bosses that don't give direction to their employees.

Berating, demeaning, setting people up for failure. That's the culture. HR and executives turn a blind eye. I wish that I could take every good, hardworking Taro employee with me. It's not that way everywhere else folks. There are managers and non managers at Taro who just don't belong in an office. I witnessed things in that office that were unbelievable. HR I encourage you to review complaints, exit interviews, look at the patterns in each department. Turnover is expensive, and not fair to the good employees. If you want to retain talent, get to the root of the problems.

Like someone posted, many Taro managers wing it. They don't know how to manage and shouldn't be in the positions they hold. HR doesn't seem to understand that weak managers are expensive.

This.

Reading these posts make me so happy that I'm not in that toxic environment anymore. Happy to be out, sad for the good employees who are still in that mess. To those people, I strongly advise you to leave. Sometimes you hang in hoping for change. That change isn't going to happen. Too many "bosses" who just don't give a damn

Berating and demeaning employees??? HR better get on that #hit before the lawsuits start rolling in. Have they heard of employee rights to be respected??

HR doesn't seem to understand that weak managers are expensive.
HR only cares about keeping their own job and pleasing upper management, so don't count on their help.
I've heard from at least 2 employees who left, that there's no more exit interviews. They took away even that small chance for people to tell the truth about this company.
As for the cost of employee turnover, they all are aware of it. But instead of retaining talent they found cheap ways to solve the problem: bringing in foreigners on working visas and promoting lower level employees within the same department. That's how we end up with low-skilled clueless managers.

HR does nothing but plan birthday breakfasts and move people around when they get harassment complaints from the second floor. Ever wonder why someone gets moved quite often from his/her cubicle or office?
That's all they do. They bury their heads in the sand because they don't want to hear it.

Agreed. This day in age plenty of camera and IT computer records to open cases and get rid of the employees who are at Taro for every reason except work. Not that hard to prove and remove the troublemakers.

Yes to this. How long do the non workers think that they can get away with nonsense. Cameras, computer records can easily show what they do and not so all day long. And don't look for time since working from home, because they're playing "Good employees" right now. Go back at least a year. Their tactics have been ignored and have been on a free ride long enough.

Spot on!

If she doesn't take steps to make sure her staff is fully trained and she feels the need to humiliate and berate her them, SHE'S the problem. The department has always been and will continue to be a revolving door. She's NOT A LEADER, she's an administrative worker with a high salary. And she's costing the company money. Taro does all of the things to keep their staff physically safe which is a good thing, but if they're being BOSSED around instead of being LEAD, then of course there are problems. If problems aren't addressed, problems don't magically disappear, problems grow.

They won't do this. They'd have to consider terminating those employees plus whoever they report to for knowing about things and doing nothing. Its too much work for HR. The fact that HR did nothing but file away exit interviews and then got rid of of exit interviews all together says it all.

This board is meant for the sales and management team to discuss what is going on in companies that carry some level of importance. Seems the Taro board has gone astray discussing back room petty matters between loudmouth operatives and low level task people. The Hawthorne office should be closed for good and settle that matter fast and effectively.

Thank You! 1000%! for an example, take a look at posts by sales in the Sun board for high level important name calling! Leave some room here for effective nursery rhymes!

Carry on.

Cameras at Taro? LOL. You must've come from another planet? Be realistic.
These people told us not to use too much paper for printing (which should save company about $ 0.5 /a day) Most of staff-level employees don't even have laptops. How do you see management spending hundreds $$ on cameras?
No. Ain't happening.

Are you dense or just naive?

They have cameras.
Just look up at the ceiling.
Those black domes are the cameras.
They have to have them.
