Ex WC getting call back from Actavis?

Just heard from an old WC pal that their application to Actavis has been moved on to a phone interview. Hilarious.

They were pushed out for no good reason a couple years ago and havent found a home since. I left for a better situation a while ago, so I'm not up to date on this transition.

Is the management so changed that they might bring back some of the good folks they lost????

very interesting if so......

not the OP so I cant say for sure, but first it says they havent found a 'home' not that they didnt have a job and secondly, you better hope you're never there douchebag, it can be tougher out there than you may realize right now, lucky little boy.

my guess you are the type that thinks everyone down on their luck is just worthless and lazy. some of what you see on the news is happening to real people.

Nicely said OP. It is very tough out there and everyone and anyone can be pushed out. I was Top 10 percent performer 7 years and pushed out and no opportunity 12 months. Good Luck to everyone in industry for 2014 and Obamacare.

BS. Top 10% performer once in 7 years doesn't qualify. If you were consistent top 10%, unless you did something wrong on compliance, you would not have been pushed out.

OK let me clue you in; Actavis bought WC, so WC is the vanquished entity. Your question implies that WC HR/management is screening this person; this is incorrect. WC no longer exists as a corporate entity, and Actavis ( a far larger company)is doing the interviewing. WC managers/directors are in no position to interview, as they have to interview for their own jobs, just like the reps.

WC was the most dubious drug company in the industry. They openly demanded that reps encourage docs by making them speaker; they encourage the purchase of business via "med ed" dinners; they openly encouraged reps complete prior auths for docs. Now do you really think that this person was fired two years ago due to compliance issues? Come on!

I can tell you unequivocally, that there have been reps that were fired despite being ranked in the top five, AND actually winning the trip. Managers/Directors have in their mind that the success of the territory had nothing to do with the rep. I was physically in a meeting, when an executive noticed that reps that had been recently fired, were appearing on his list of high performing territories.

WC was completely comical at the field management level. These people, were super young, inexperienced, and there was literally no leadership training at WC. With a weak HR dept, these clowns, including directors, ran amuck and fired people whenever they wanted to. No PIP, no WIP, just gone! Just look at the 35% annual turnover rate, which is more 4x the industry average.

So yes, it is quite possible that this person had some great years at WC, but as still let go for no rational reason. At WC, you could simply be called into a room and fired. REal amateaurish.

Well, thats why I was asking....

I'm not sure who is there or who is making decisions. Would hope for clean slate with a lot of the ass-kissing fortunates (Managers who made their bones in Cali, Fla, Tx) gone. Along with the home office hatchet mangers who made their rep not by coaching or fixing anything but firing and hiring a type A crazees based on a bullcrap psychology test.

Those days are gone, as that company (Warner Chilcott) no longer exists. This is great for those that survive the pending massacre.

what i dont get, is that is someone with experience and past success, who will work for nearly as little as a newbie, taking the risk and having confidence they will earn highest possible bonuses, gets no opportunity????!!

whats the advantage of risking a quick turnover, re-hire, re-train, and face those same risks again over just taking a known commodity that due to the times in the industry will work for less than market value?

I'm not quite sure what you are talking about? Every rep with WC is interviewing. Are you assuming they are going to let go any reps with actual tenure? I think they keep those reps, they keep most reps 2+ years and over. Everyone else, they will probably let go. Those figures alone will clean up about 33% of the salesforce if not more.

Are you kidding me? If they fire (or refuse to hire) reps WC reps with less than 2 years experience, they will lose 70% of the WC reps; THATS A FACT! Just canvass your own district, and you will see (most will anyway).

On the other hand, most WC reps have only worked pharma at WC. If you have two plus years of this stench, and it IS a stench, you are definitely a liability. Thats 2+ years of being trained to illegally complete prior auths, 2+ years of being trained to buy the business with 4 required dinners per months, 2+ years of being trained that taking the same doc to dinner 18 times in a trimester is AOK, 2+ years of being trained on "holding the doc accountable to his word"; two plus years being trained to buy the business by making everyone a speaker; two plus years of being exposed to inexperienced and untrained leadership.

You see, if WC is the only experience you have as a rep; you have a stench on you that is beyond belief. You are a potential liability. It is generally know, that on the open market WC reps are looked at with a jaundiced eye. It doesnt mean that they never get hired, but having WC on your resume, as a rep is like smearing feces on your body; IT JUST STINKS!
