Ex WC getting call back from Actavis?

Are you kidding me? If they fire (or refuse to hire) reps WC reps with less than 2 years experience, they will lose 70% of the WC reps; THATS A FACT! Just canvass your own district, and you will see (most will anyway).

On the other hand, most WC reps have only worked pharma at WC. If you have two plus years of this stench, and it IS a stench, you are definitely a liability. Thats 2+ years of being trained to illegally complete prior auths, 2+ years of being trained to buy the business with 4 required dinners per months, 2+ years of being trained that taking the same doc to dinner 18 times in a trimester is AOK, 2+ years of being trained on "holding the doc accountable to his word"; two plus years being trained to buy the business by making everyone a speaker; two plus years of being exposed to inexperienced and untrained leadership.

You see, if WC is the only experience you have as a rep; you have a stench on you that is beyond belief. You are a potential liability. It is generally know, that on the open market WC reps are looked at with a jaundiced eye. It doesnt mean that they never get hired, but having WC on your resume, as a rep is like smearing feces on your body; IT JUST STINKS!

Just out of curiosity, what is your problem with WC reps? I have been here a little over a year with great success and never ONCE have been asked or did anything illegal. I think the reps you are referring to were reps at least 5+ years ago.

Just heard from an old WC pal that their application to Actavis has been moved on to a phone interview. Hilarious.

They were pushed out for no good reason a couple years ago and havent found a home since. I left for a better situation a while ago, so I'm not up to date on this transition.

Is the management so changed that they might bring back some of the good folks they lost????

very interesting if so......

Lmfao ....what a sentence good people and wc in one sentence ...taers roll down my face .....

Nicely said OP. It is very tough out there and everyone and anyone can be pushed out. I was Top 10 percent performer 7 years and pushed out and no opportunity 12 months. Good Luck to everyone in industry for 2014 and Obamacare.

Agree ,14 years spec. with monster pharma ,out since 18 months ,its either under employed or no chance since the time plays against you and the worst time to change careers

talking more in general than over this situation here. but, i'll believe it when i see it. hiring managers want 'em younger and cheaper.

Well, I am either one ,but worked for P&G and left after the WC merger and was called by a publicis recruiter to interview since i sold those old sorry meds for 8 years, have to say the interviews were laughable and the mgrs.not very impressive

This is true I interviewed with WC and turned down the offer because I was interviewing for a few other big pharma companies. Every DM asked me if I was interviewing for other companies and when I said WC it was looked at very unfavorable. One of the DMs bluntly told me not to get involved with WC because "they are unethical and don't follow pharma code." He then said many hiring managers are skeptical of WC reps.
One of my friends also interviewed with WC for the same DM (MR.) The DM was completely rude and disrespectful to her basically ripping apart her resume and claiming she was unqualified. The irony was that at the end of the interview the DM basically admits that my friend was more qualified than her when she started in pharma. Her Linkedin page says it all only job ever was WC.
