I had a phone interview last week and was told by the recruiter I would hear by Tuesday if I was being moved forward. and still no word...
Don't be so sure, new leaders and pressure from OIG may shake things up a bit
You guys don't stand a chance! Corporate is just checking boxes to say they interviewed from every angle! Most positions will be internally filled by the 1000 sales reps at WC that are already currently in territory and have relationships and products on hand. There may be some exceptions here and there, but you'll see how bullshit the interview is when you get there!
If they were that worried about it, they wouldn't have purchased us. You don't think they didn't think or discuss that beforehand? Is it any wonder they sold generic AND branded rights to our osteo drug?? That's where most the BS was anyways. They aren't going to layoff the majority of the salesforce, that's a class action law suit waiting to happen. Especially for those never involved in any of that shit. They will get rid of who they need to, but the majority of salesforce is going to be fine!
Suing and "winning" are two different things; BTW our osteo drug was a dog anyway. Also, you must be one of our very young copier reps, who knows little about this industry. Like all liabilities, the OIG risk was no doubt built into the purchase price. Next, why would there be a successful suit if even ALL WC reps were fired??? Lawyers take suits based on the chance of winning. Now if only women, or only men, or only over 40 were let go, that called discrimination, so yes, open and shut. But, remember your application; you are hired at will and can be fired for ANY REASON and at ANY TIME. If Actavis wanted to fire the entire group, as long as you received your WARN notice, there is literally no issue. There have been layoffs in this industry where thousand of people have been let go at one time.
Finally, technically you would not even be fired. Technically every single position is open, and you will interview for a job. SO, you wouldn't really even be fired, you just wont be hired. BIG DIFFERENCE!
There are already currently 176 sales jobs posted on the Actavis website and a stated requirement is "Two or more years of experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotech sales.". The majority of WC reps would technically not even be qualified to apply for these jobs even today, let alone when they were hired by WC.
The fact is that WC was a horrible and unconventional sales organization. Actavis is not interviewing outside people, just for their health, and they do not need to. If you think this ends well for WC reps, you are crazy. Not all will be let go, or even most, but a lot will.
I would bet any thing that AT LEAST 30% of you will be gone, and thats a huge number!
Does anyone know how many of us WC reps are competing for these 200+ jobs? There are 5 in my area and only 3 postings that make geographical sense. Of the 5, two have under 2 years of experience. Does this mean the other three are golden? or could they hire from outside?
proximity of reps residence specific to core business. salary, years with company and HR file.
The ones under two years are gone . As long as the other 3 make business sense and have decent numbers , they should be fine.
Do you realize that more than 75% of WC reps have less than 2 years experience?
