How is company to work for?

I am interested in this company. I see you have openings in my area. Would you be so kind to list some pro's and con's on starting a career here?

Thanks for your time.

Gilead is the best of the best and to work for, it's that simple...the best

You are treated like a professional and given autonomy to do your job. Some managers are better then others and some divisions are better then others.

It's all what you make of it, but all in all, speaking from experience
...Gilead is the place to be, the only haters are the ones that can't sell and get pressure, reps have alot of responsibility in regards to revenue

Work hard, get rewarded...don't, get tossed

Can you say D-E-L-U-S-I-O-N-A-L! The saddest part of your ass kissing banter is that you believe pharma is a "sales" job. It stopped being a "sales" job when R&F became law and the ability to establish relationships was ceased due to our not being able to take a customer out for a cup of coffee or sandwich anymore. We are simply expendable drones demanded to spit out a marketing message and point to the right place on the page of the sales aid. No more no less.

Coming from someone who is fairly new to the company (less than 2 years) I can say it is a good place to work with a culture that definitely thrives on performance. I have worked at two other LARGE pharma companies, and even though there are still the same administrative expectations as those places, its not over-bearing. If you are used to, or even fond of, hiding in a POD selling style, this is not the place for you. If you are willing to work and be accountable for your territory, you can thrive and be successful. Most of the people bad-mounthing probably don't fit this mold. The benefits are better than most (especially stock) and pay is definitely commensurate with your history. Future pipeline looks good too. I would say there aren't many other places I would rather be at this point. (I'll check back for the hecklers to see how I have made a "delusional" post.)

Boy, isn't that the truth. It near impossible to establish relationships with the Pharma guidelines. What other sales job has the government sticking it to them and handcuffing them like this industry. It is nearly impossible to do the job now.

It amazes me that you are still using this phrase as if it is funny and will elicit a subtle "tee-hee" in those who read it. Find some new material and quit stealing old lines from other threads.

Yes, fucking amazing. The OP is a kiss ass manager, corporate fuck. Are going to be amazed that I am still using the word fuck? It is over used and very "old". As for you, get fucked. Oh, I did it again, old phase that is. Tee-hee

Hopefully you will not be a victim to goal manipulation. This company is notorious for loading goals on territories and regions that are not proportional to history of growth. Example, areas of south east had 18-33% growth goals with high volume territories and other regions had 0-6% goals with low volumes. This was in the absence of significant market changes. Formulary, guidelines changes, managed care.

It's one thing to demand performance, but to dictated winners and losers thru goal manipulation is one of the things that gives Gilead "The bad image"

It's also very telling when Gilead actively searches out talent from other companies, then threatens legal action agains competitive companies for recruiting Gilead employees!

Pharma sales is a joke! Your post is "delusional" because you too believe that sales are on the reps. How can you have a "sales performance culture" when the folks who are in leadership positions have little to no relevant sales experience from which to LEAD? THEY'RE MARKETING PEOPLE! Gilead is an "advertisement/commercial marketing culture" at best. Accountability for the territory? How can YOU or anyone else be personally accountable when you have no say on how or when you're to interact with your customers? Other persons (MS, SRD) can take your customers out and you can't even go and if you are allowed to attend you're to keep your mouth closed and not say shit. Are you serious? You demand accountability behind that shit? It takes no leadership skill to have a management by fear or bully culture especially in today's job market. Since there is no REAL sales leadership they can only manage by fear since they don't have the relevant sales experience upon which to draw. In a "REAL" sales job which demands accountability managers and in-house people don't ride with you multiple days per month. That's unheard of in a "REAL" sales job! The fact of the matter is pharma sales (which includes Gilead) is nothing more than a daily box checking exercise and being walking billboards for marketing. Oh yeah, we also double as caterers and pizza delivery persons. Most of the people "bad-mouthing" are likely folks who want to be allowed to sell and be treated like adults. That is why this "heckler" finds your post delusional. Now you tell me how you're NOT delusional?!?!?!
