Sucks, but not as bad as Actelion. At least we are not being subpoenaed! Other division other than PAH too. The PAH is a farce. The whole orphan disease state is terrible. Therapies are too expensive.

Pharma sales is a joke! Your post is "delusional" because you too believe that sales are on the reps. How can you have a "sales performance culture" when the folks who are in leadership positions have little to no relevant sales experience from which to LEAD? THEY'RE MARKETING PEOPLE! Gilead is an "advertisement/commercial marketing culture" at best. Accountability for the territory? How can YOU or anyone else be personally accountable when you have no say on how or when you're to interact with your customers? Other persons (MS, SRD) can take your customers out and you can't even go and if you are allowed to attend you're to keep your mouth closed and not say shit. Are you serious? You demand accountability behind that shit? It takes no leadership skill to have a management by fear or bully culture especially in today's job market. Since there is no REAL sales leadership they can only manage by fear since they don't have the relevant sales experience upon which to draw. In a "REAL" sales job which demands accountability managers and in-house people don't ride with you multiple days per month. That's unheard of in a "REAL" sales job! The fact of the matter is pharma sales (which includes Gilead) is nothing more than a daily box checking exercise and being walking billboards for marketing. Oh yeah, we also double as caterers and pizza delivery persons. Most of the people "bad-mouthing" are likely folks who want to be allowed to sell and be treated like adults. That is why this "heckler" finds your post delusional. Now you tell me how you're NOT delusional?!?!?!

It amazes me when people like you will spend so much time telling everyone that what we do is not sales. Why are you still here? Why are you in Pharma at all? We don't sell copiers, or implants or widgets, but what we do is sales. We may not be able to point to 100% of the bottom line of our territories, but in most cases we make enough of a difference that we more than pay our way. If you like high pressure, worried every day about losing your job if you don't land the big company/client/whatever, then go for it. In companies like ours, you are valued for more than the last sale. If you don't feel that way, you either have a horrible manager or you bring nothing of value. Yes, some of our customers can't stand us. So what. What other job can you make the kind of money we do and have everyone love you? I am not delusional, because I know what we can and cannot take credit for; and apparently I know how to "play the game" better than you. Can't wait to hear your crafty response. BTW, I still think the company is better than most, too.

What exactly is it that you "sell" so much of before 10AM Internet Tuff Guy? Believe it or not, insurance sales reps get more respect and face time with customers than you and most pharma reps. I know you've been brain-washed to believe that what you do makes ALL of the difference in the world.
