Interviewed this week in Southeast:

Re: RBD in Southeast:

If you are looking for leadership in this team dont relly of the RBD for the southeast. No experience in cardio plus just a real piece of work only thinks and looks out for hisself and his constituants, total lack of leadership and let his previous region down on his way out the door by only looking out for himself. Wont give promotions and lacks any real substance all BS.YOU GO SHAW!

Word is they are working on the offers. Hope they are as strong as hyped to be. Most of the external top candidates are tenured SPs that are for the most part SET where they are currently employed. If J&J really thinks we are going to make the leap they need to be offering 6 figure bases and 4 weeks vacation. Otherwise all this interviewing and flying employed candidates around for further interviewing will be for not. They have allot of eggs in a few baskets and most of us will gladly walk for anything less than mentioned above. Funny thing is with so many candidates coming from similar companies the stakes are even higher for J&J as you loose one candidate chances are most in kind will walk. J&J will get to start their interview process over and prepare to launch with their B team when the drug gets approved. This should be interesting...all the pressure is on you J&J. Low ball and you loose your top tier external candidates.

You need to get your head out of your ass and wake up! Most of the hospital's around the country have closed their doors to reps and many office are doing the same. If I was hiring I would not pay anyone a base higher than 75K because there are plenty of good reps looking for work who would jump at that offer. A six figure base, NO WAY IN HELL!!! The experience claim is WAY OVER PLAYED in pharma these days.

I couldn't agree more with the majority of these post, coming from a hospitals sales role with an anticoagulant and having been around pharm-sales for 8+ yrs, I can honestly say I haven't been in an interview as elementary and belittling as this type of interview since I got out of college. You would think with our types of experience, they would treat us as such not go off a scripted piece of paper with redundant questions that seemed to go around in circles. RD Shaw are you serious, guy had a chip on his shoulder reminded me of a guy with the typical "short man" complex definitely got beat up one to many times in school. DM next to him poor gal couldn't even get a word in!

Seems exactly as another post wrote of "checking the boxes", standardizing each rep into a robot who scripts there buzz words that are handed down from corporate. I'll tell you something worked with Pfizer reps they are more scared and anxiety ridden from checkin the boxes that they turn into a person who can't sell just like the mgr. who brainwashed and converted them into the corporate robot they have become. Unfortunately we're at the same place, no way after hearing that PASS people who sign on good luck....Xanex plz.:)

Oh please, your not all that. You're a pharma rep just like primary care reps. GO get a device job and then you can call it "selling"

Good Luck

Managers in meetings this week. Launch meeting at Disney World at 2 disney properties the week of July 18th.
I beleive they are trying to get the best people, but dragging out the process too much. The STAR questioning is outdated JNJ. Look at the resume and back up information, its all you need. Professional interviewers are quite good at giving great answers, but cannot sell a pill !!! I do beleive it you have sales in the cardiovascular market, and we are talking proven sales, for several years, you should be compensated. The managers are doing a good job in the process. I would not use sales reps for interviewing candidates thou. Good luck.

You are wrongo my friend. I was offered 118 base. It's a 4th band for a Sr. role so it's like $83 to $120 base. who makes $75 anymore????

It's true. Salaries well over $120k here are the norm for reps. Hands down J&J is the best paying pharma company overall. Bases and bonuses are higher than all other big pharma companies and we get the best benefits includings pensions. J&J offers biotech salaries and bonuses and big pharma bennies. True there's no access to customers anymore but the company doesn't seem to care because there's a ton of openings that are getting filled at base salaries well over $100k.

Has anyone heard anything since their interview? I have been waiting 3 weeks. Is there a pending launch date? I have heard they are dragging their feet placing people. Only serious reply's please.
