It's time for you to turn over a new leaf in 2014

Im speaking up for those like me who are tired of all the negative posts regarding Merck.

I for one am grateful for the opportunity to work for a greatly under appreciated company.

Let's count just a few here:
1) We help millions of patients by providing quality life-saving medicines, even free to those who can't otherwise afford them.
2) Although we have made mistakes in the past but now conduct our business efficiently and ethically.
3) We have a great leader with a vision for the future who cares for even those who insult him on this site.

Anyone who agrees with me please chime in or move on if you disagree.

Be well

Nice post OP. I too am happy for many great things this place has to offer. Here's my list:

1. I get to catch up on current events by flipping through a People Magazine in the waiting room while waiting for a signature.

2. Everybody at Christmas still thinks I have an "important" job. They have no idea that I am a cross between the bad acting part (non-sex scenes) of a porn star and a caterer.

3. I must admit I work with a lot of great looking people and have no shortage of private time material, if you know what I mean.

4. Even though our company meetings routinely suck, I appreciate my DCO opening a tab so I can drink single malt scotch on him.

5. I'm happy that after all these years I can still keep a straight face when I tell success stories during my team teleconferences.

CLASSIC!

I am grateful that I don't stand up and throw up every time I hear my MAE make up some crap statement.

I am grateful that I already have anxiety Bout the upcoming meeting where I have to see all those CTLs look so "important."

I am grateful that I have a manager that is so boring that I have to drink 3 beers before I can lighten to his elementary voice message.

I am grateful that I get to drive a new car every 3 years!!

I am grateful that I am almost done with this job and will start a new one within 2 months to 2 years.

I am grateful that the pharmaceutical news is always in the NY times to hep with our image

I am grateful that I will one tell the over weight medical assistants that there is NO more free LUNCH!!

Should I continue or do you get the point?

Everyone here needs to meditate, drink some herbal tea, yank on the hotdog a bit, then focus your inner chi energies to a more positive mental plane.

Also, try to refrain from eating red meat, it disturbs the inner chi and plays havoc with your GI tract!

Merck is not the enemy, rather your negative thoughts and emotions will prove to be your downfall!

Could you be anymore transparent in your sarcasm!

Man, what a dichotomy of realities. We have some of the most down-to-earth realists out there (Post #2 is proof of that). This e of us in that category know what a farce it all is---including our do-nothing products. And then there are the Merckbots. You just can't fix stupid.

GLTA and FU Merck. I'm not gonna miss ya.

If Frasier was a good leader, he would have turned down that 17% raise last year especially since he knew the company was going to have a crappy year laying off tons of people. Leaders lead by example and he is not one. He will be gone with the upcoming shitty year that is coming. Only making earnings by laying off people is not leadership.

Yes, I agree. We will all be turning over a new leaf in 2014, whether we choose to or not.

Low self esteem underperformers will be gone Jan. 6th. YOU have to look deep within and ask yourself:

"Am I truly making a difference at Merck...and am I willing to go the extra mile to bring home the NRx bacon?"
