MedReps.com is a rip-off & crap??

I had 3 interviews and finally landed a job through Medreps.com postings (hired last July). But there is a lot of crap there too, so you need to wade though it to find the ones worth looking at.

But for comparison, I had 2 interviews from my profile on LinkedIn.com.

It was worth it when it only cost $30 per year, but now they charge $30 for only 3 months, or you can get on the monthly plan for $9 or so a month. They probably won't get my money again.

I have made the mistake of relying on medreps twice now after two layoffs in my 17 years med sales career. Based on results, and my instincts I have virtually gotten such a low response to the amount of resumes sent out through them. I have the accolades and the great resume, etc. so I am inclined to believe that many of the jobs are bogus and posted by recruiters looking for resumes. In fact, I know this to be true as I responded to one posting and spoke to a recruiter who gave me contradictory info, and so I called the company directly and they were not even aware of this recruiter who was saying he was recruiting for their company. It was a scame. I have errored by relying too heavily on medreps and I believe the way to go it the many other major jobsites and there are many! Good luck and good bye medreps!

I have a great resume with top rankings, pres club, consistently for over 15 years. I have relied to heavily on medreps as rarely a response and I read the qualifications and only apply if I qualify. I know that recruiters post bogus jobs on there as I recently got a call from a recruiter who gave me info about a company that i knew was not accurate. So I called the HR dept of that company and they had NO CONTRACT with this very large recruitment firm and asked his name etc. This recruiter was pretending to hire for this company and it was completely bogus. Based on facts and intuition, I believe that medreps has gone downhill. Once was the bomb but no more. Based on what i have read here I will utilize other websites and I am sure I will have immediate success. Good bye med reps!

Okay alot of us here are looking for a new job. Pharma is not my first choice, but I have 26 years devoted to this industry, so best to probably utilize my experience and look in that direction, while I hold my nose!
At any rate, I have stayed away from MedReps.com because I think it is a rip-off and crap. I say that because I joined it over a year ago and it looked to me that it was probably mostly recruiters fishing for resumes. So is there anyone here who has paid medReps to join and actually gotten any response or even an interview?
There are so few jobs out there, so I am moving forward and hope for the best and good luck to the ones who are really going to use this as a learning experience. Life is Great!

The problem is not with MedReps. I have been offered 3 great positions-all from MedReps, going back to 2005, and all paying more than $150k. I would propose that your background in Pharma is the problem. As a mid to upper level manager, I will share that I would not want your skill set in the device environment. Unfort for you, this is what MedReps specializes in. 26 years in Pharma equals zero years of sales (promoting, yes...sales...no).

How many times does the word "pharma" in some form appear on your resume? If more than 3, then you might as well have a tattoo on your forehaed that says "drug rep".

Medreps is an absolute ripoff. The company is being investigated for fraud on several fronts and has numerous complaints lodged with the FTC. You are better served using other methods to look for jobs. If you want unauthorized charges to show up on your credit card for months/years after cancelling your membership, be my guest.

This company is the lowest form of scum.

I can attest to this. 6 months after signing up (and 4 months after getting a position that MedReps had NOTHING to do with), I was charged AGAIN. I emailed my complaint and quickly received a reply that I was "automatically enrolled" and would continue to be charged unless I opted OUT in writing within 24 hours of being charged. (And who reads their credit card statements daily?) I told them I thought this was a BS policy but got not further comment.

I have since filed a complaint with my state's Attorney General and the BBB. I am also pleased to say that, in my new position, I have a great deal of influence over what outlets we use to advertise for positions. I have already reallocated about $2,000 worth of advertising that would have been given to MedReps to other sites.

Basically, MedReps doesn't offer anything that can't be found on multiple other websites and, in my opinion, isn't worth spit. Try Indeed.com and network like hell - that's where the jobs are found these days.
