Next Reorg


That is the problem in my opinion with the current state we are in. The people who actually work who are going in day and day out to offices, aren’t necessarily the ones being promoted. The people being promoted are people who are playing around on ERG‘s attending meetings, doing projects for managers and just basically networking, my area is full of these people. They’re not actually doing a job. They are masterful at promoting themselves. This self promotion and lack of actually contributing is affecting the bottom line. There are other issues, but this is a big one.

Did Lars Live announce layoffs or any insight about reorganization?
I was surprised to hear Lars say “ if you don’t like your manager, go work somewhere else”. Yeah, well most of us HAVE worked somewhere else, and that’s how many of us have drawn the conclusion that manager’s here suck lemons.
My advice to Lars, instead of telling reps to go work somewhere else, why isn’t there a move to look into what’s going on and why Reps here are so disenfranchised here.
For starters, there are way TOO MANY managers given the limited access to offices.
We are literally tripping over each other and we look desperate in our quest to outperform Lilly. This is exactly why offices have limited access. The value proposition is gone.
Novo, please consider removing DBM’S as much as possible.

When your clinical data sucks compared to your competitors, and you have to lie to Physicians to get a script… of course there is going to be a reorg. grab your ankles and hold on tight.
 


You sound like a Lilly REP! It’s about GLP-1, close to the homology of native GLP1, Not primarily just weight loss. The Surpass-CVOT is set to underwhelm. Mounjaro has a homology to native GLP-1 to about 30-40%, while its GIP is 80%. It's GLP-1 activity is 1/5 of Ozempic's and at best a weak to modest agonist at the receptor site. Ozempic is the most potent GLP-1 ever created. Now we know that ASCVD reduction is more about GLP-1 than Weight loss. Tanzeum's CVOT trial yielded a weight loss of 1.5lbs and had a 22% reduction in 3-point mace. Lilly's CVOT trial is powered to include modest BMI's so weight loss will not be as significant. GIP has been associated with inflammation as well. What we will see is that Mounjaro will fail to achieve noninferiority vs. trulicity in a 4 point mace composite while showing noninferiority to a single component of the 4 point mace being Heart Failure. 4 point MACE was added as a security blanket just in case the overall composite was negative.

Agree w above comment. Once upon a time Novo attracted the best in the industry. Now we are hiring low level people. Laid off reps who are desperate or 20-something-yr-olds who are cheap labor looking to break into the industry. No one comes here to level up their career. High quality reps know better….
 


everyone will go eco system Jan 2026. Reduction of both managers and reps for obesity and diabetes. You will be informed of status between last week of November and first week of December. Head count reduction and maps are about 85% complete. Around 25%-35% reduction depending on area.
 


Let’s get real. Adding more managers was ridiculous. Now we have one manager per 8 reps and they are held to two 2-day ride alongs (with notes!) per week. Everyone is being micromanaged from RBD down and we look desperate as f*ck to our offices. It’s honestly uncomfortable and embarrassing. I like my manager but offices seriously don’t want the dog and pony show. There has to be a better way to do this. Awkward to all involved. The problem is from the Area leadership - shit rolls downhill. If you’re bragging about your frequent flier miles and how often you take reps out on the corporate card on Yammer or whatever the f it’s called now you are a major source of the problem.

Agree with ya 100% on this. We just had a major office ban managers and/or 2nd reps at lunches. Guess why? It was because of Novo! DCS, OCS, Educators with managers, all going to the same office. Not to mention the 2nd DCS with the same manager the following week. We are no longer providing a value to these offices.
This micromanagement is coming from above the RBD level IMO.
 


I can’t imagine anyone wanting to invest their time for a career in this industry. Good pay today but what about the future? No skills learned. Big waste of time until generic launches. How many people will be in this industry until retirement age? Everyone needs an exit plan.

College enrollment is way down. Every week, 1 college or university closes permanently in the United States. These campuses are auctioned off. Many pharma companies no longer require a college degree to be in sales. Physicians are going to be impressed with the vast knowledge future representatives are going to display. Access will get worse. Run from this industry as fast as you can!!! Absolutely no long term future.
 


Getting a PhD in pharmacology has a terrible return of investment as well. In this industry, fraternity and sorority members often make more money than PhD scientists. No wonder almost all products suck and clinical studies suck as well. Physicians are certainly impressed with what this industry offers.
 


University pharmacology research will close as well because of cuts to federal funding. Why would anyone get a PhD in pharmacology? This industry has a terrible future. Look at Pfizer stock. In 1998 PFE was $37 a share. Today, $24. With all the billions and billions spent on R and D, PFE stock is a shit show. Wall Street is running from this industry as well.
