Prague

As for the Prague spoiled brats, seems like they complain more than actually produce anything substantial...

I left just as they were starting to do work (or at least the appearance)

Are you saying that they aren't magically taking the place of folk with years of depth but for a fraction of the cost?

It doesn't matter if they are actually doing it, it's what they will tell everyone. It's already a huge success, get over it.

There's nothing for me to "get over". I'm no longer with Merck. Just curious how things might be going, since many people I cared about are still there but don't say much.

I'm in the same boat. Just interested in seeing how things are going with my old colleagues - not interested in the fake shit people like to complain about there. Communications of mine with old friends have common themes of "ehh, it's shitty but ehhhhhhhh" but that might not be similar with all of IT. FYI, so happy I'm out, things move sooo much faster outside of mother, people care about results, technology isnt the dumping ground, and I'm not even going to say about the pay improvement.

IT and Digital should be left up to technology companies and not to biopharma. Being responsible for S&M the last 3 years for a Biotech company in the Boston area, I am just amazed how slowly new IT platforms are adopted. Partnerships with Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Samsung and technology startups etc. are the future. Just came back from a meeting in Spain where Charles Gerrits (spelling??) Chief Digital Officer / Chief Commercial Officer spoke about combining mobile-, and cloud-based technology and IT platforms with biopharmaceuticals. This seems to be the future, which is already invented by the technology companies, and not by any biopharma. They should just do what they are best in, and leave the rest to others.

BTW, with this statement, I am not at all blaming the IT folks in Biopharma. Most of the people I work with in the IT department really have great ideas and want to be innovative and introduce the latest and the greatest. It is just that most of the executive team, don't want to invest, or just have no clue.........
