Recent Pet Sales Rep Interviews

There are still new positions being posted almost daily on the internal job board. We are definitely not done hiring yet. And written offers aren't sent out until you accept the verbal offer so if you recently accepted a verbal the written is coming soon. Good luck everyone, it's nice seeing so many new faces coming on board. I can't wait to lay off most of them in a few years.
 








Level 1 - Little to No Sales experience (base around 60k)
Level 2 - Decent Amt. of Sales Experience (Base around 75k)
Level 3 - Significant Sales (base around 85k)

Doesn't really matter what you think you are, it matters what they think you are and what the budget calls for in the territory.
 


Thanks for the info, not sure if it matters! Do not think I did well, RM was confusing which in turn made my answers look like i didn;t know anything.

really sucks since I have have great industry background and would be great for the job. Wish I could have a "do over"

HATED the "star" questions, always so hard to come up with an example in 3 seconds tried to keep answers short but it was hard, I felt like I need to give some background before I dove into what he was looking for which made me look long winded, NOT what he wanted to see!

So what happened, did you get the job?
 


nope! I knew the sec I left the interview.

Have spoken to a number of freinds inside the industry and was told that I never had a shot, upper managment is ONLY looking at human people which I am hearing in other companys as well.

Kinda sad that reps that have been in the industry for years no longer have a chance. In a way I really can not blame them since i do not think I brought my "A" game to the interview

Where were you looking? I went for the NC opening and never heard back.

I'm with Merck companion. We have only hired human reps for the past year. It's almost like it's a rule. They have no background in animal health. So you are not alone.
 


yes also NC job, but truth be told I did that to myself, i did not go with my "A" game. I am waiting to see who they put in there, i have a buddy who has clinic in the region and will get a report.

Funny thing..everyone wants human guys now but just try to go for a human job, your resume won't even get past the trash.

Another job came across my email from a friend, and once again my background is a perfect match and I even have references (great ones!) on the inside but again, not even a call. back.
 






We will know soon enough who it is. I hope it is a veteran, I won't feel as bad. FYI there are a couple veterans in the area, I'm one of them!

You my friend are a born loser! The veteran is a veteran of animal health and will be relocating from another location.... And last time I check there are many animal health veterans, especially the Greensboro area considering Novartis is nearby... And we are not talking about a military veteran, but rather an experienced individual.... So pound sand you dumb a**!

In animal pharma they ONLY hire reps coming from human pharma??

If that is the case then why do they even contact people who THEY know they won't even consider???

That is just wrong.
 


That isn't true. I was hired in the last SFO and didn't have pharma experience (human or animal health). Overall it has been a good experience and I'm happy to work here.

YEA RIGHT, these were the salaries if you came on board BEFORE the FD integration. go ahead and subtract $15K from those numbers

Our company hires reps who already have Animal Pharma experience. We don't prefer to reps from the Human Pharma side.
