restructuring in January










Just heard it today. Massive downsizing of sales force third week in January. No severance being offered.

I was thinking about this recently because of the court case. I would definitely be worried If I was a rep in a rural area, but not if I worked in a highly congested area like New York. One rep can't cover all of New York.
 


In honor of the holiday season.
MD: "Listen Cathy, a bell is ringing."
Cathy:" Every time a bell rings a KCI employee loses their job."
MD: "Does that mean we get to split more money from this big pile?"
Cathy: "Oh Mike. it's nice to see you finally understand what we are doing"
MD: "Can I go down to HR and pick out the next 5 to be let go?"
Cathy: "Sure you can Mike, you've earned it!"
 


The only thing that I heard was for VAC. They feel they have too many AE's calling on same doctors. Will hurt post-acute Reps the hardest. It has to do will patent running out, moving to a selling instead of rental model, and the lawsuit. It is going to be more restructuring then ever before.
 


I have been with this company for a little over 3 mths. Are you talking about the letting go of CAMS or AEs in post acute. I also dont understand how we all reserved our travel for the GSC. Will they just tell us not to go right before and cancel our reservations or give us the ax when we get there?

Your first mistake was coming to KCI and if you work for Gina Smith just know that your future will be short. Not becaue you will be fired but because you will realize this company is full of imbeciles.
 






The story is, JD was heard running down the hall yelling "redrum, redrum, redrum!" Also, several of the women's restroom mirrors had "redrum" in lipstick written on them. I'm just saying....
 


I am glad I finally got out after 13 years , this company will never be the same and doesn't care about its work force . So sad, Dr Jim doesnt even care about it anymore.

KCI would never keep you at your salary over airplane fare. They have restructured every year, a week before GSC, for the last five years. They are talking about a massive restructuring of everyone. Not only cams or only ae's or only dsm's.
 




KCI doesn't need all the reps we have, most reps are sitting at home as I type. The cams in post do nothing but collect documents and gossip. They could hire someone at a cheaper rate to collect documents.

Post acute has nothing new to talk about and the doctors aren't willing to give them time. I don't see them working full days.
 


Since inception Post Acute drove the awareness and adoption bus for the VAC. There call points for years were in the physicians offices, not until recent did the KCI pharma model did this change. Most of this sales model required a market acumen, and consultative selling skills. Near absent today in our model, desperate times ahead unfortunately.
