Restructuring

Not true. You will be surprised how heavily monitored these boards and others like them are by the company. Not to do so would leave the managers remiss in their duties as CP gives them a direct line in to the feeling of whats happening on ground level with regards the decisions they make.

I know I can't change anything. My conscience is clear with what I do in the workplace with my colleagues and on the road with my docs.

All I really want to know is when is it coming down because to be working with this over your head is a drag. It just makes one consider looking for a new job when there might not actually be any need to.

So what do these monitors say to the fact that when Bayer bought the Whippany facility which turned out to be too small for all of its consolodation, most people will not have a place to work when they come into the office. The Mount Olive site is almost 1 million sq feet. Bayer should have went there. Now, I hear that due to the limited space, a lot of us may be laid off and downsized out. WTF????

You have no idea what you are talking about. Berlex brought Bayer tons of Monica and Bayer had all the problems. We brought the entire Womens division to Bayer..

You are an idiot!!

Hey Shit-for-brains.....STFU!!! You don't know WTF you are talking about!!!

You're the idiot.

It does not matter Berlex or Bayer - IT IS ABOUT PEOPLE!!!!! People lost their jobs today. People have mortgages, families, bills etc....People were let go. Many very fine people were sent packing. People who make decisions had to make terrible phone calls today. No one likes to do that.
You petty idiots arguing about Berlex vs Bayer have your priorities messed up. Reach out to your fellow employees and help them network. This is a terrible gut punch. I lost a lot of good friends today. People I trained. I have not worked there in a year and I left on my own terms, but others have had a rug pulled out from under them.
Help them.
To those let go today, I wish you good luck. It is not the end. There will be good work for you. Stay positive and focused and make your new job getting a job.
Good Luck

To my old collegues in Female Healthcare - I'm very sorry and empathetic to what you're going through. Our whole division was cut a few years back and it's a very nerve racking experience. Here's a couple of things I can tell you. On a positive note, most of you have developed great friendships through the years. Develop a real network (distribute an excel spread sheet of names, phone numbers and home address befor Bayer cuts off your email) and keep each other informed of opportunities as they arise. I was able to direct three of my former co-workers to vacancies that they took, and I'm in my current position because a good friend and former collegue, who lives 5 states away, passed on my resume. On the negative side, no one in management or HR gives a shit. We were treated like the plague when we were let go, so don't expect anything from them. I found this to be the most disheartening part of the whole process (thanks again for your support Marilyn). Take some time off to decompress and reassess - then go at it "balls to the wall". You'll be back to work before you know it. Best of luck to all of you.

An old friend
