These contrived success stories are a complete joke. There are few success stories. Access has been shut down. Dr.'s don't want to talk with us for the most part.

Poster is dead on. This charade has few wheels left. We have been exposed, and 2011 will be a bloodbath industry wide wih Medicare cuts, patent cliff expirations and continued heat from the feds. We all better get used to working real jobs soon.

I totally agree. With the sunshine act and all the cuts, our days are numbered. We can not give the Dr's anything anymore, and they feel NO obligation to speak with us. The programs are a waste of time and money, the Dr's don't want to come to lunches, the generic intrusion is cutting into all of the atypicals pockets, and we soon will be down to having about 1/4 of the reps we have.
The success stories that managers want are..for the most part...lies. Dr.'s don't have the time to give us the success stories. I'm lucky if I get 10 minutes at lunch anymore.

Plus, we have no selling materials, and I see no plans to give us much of anything to use. The days of pharma are almost over.

I agree with both of you. 12 years ago, I got a solid 30 to 45 minutes at lunches. Now, I get 5 , 10 or maybe 15 minutes. Between patients, I get 15 seconds--not a minute-no time for a success story.

The dr.'s couldn't care less about lunches. They don't even want the lunches. They are not getting free tickets, gift cards or anything any longer. They are tired of the dog and pony show, and due to feeling no obligation, they are limiting time and access. It just gets worse and worse.

We enjoy going on our vacations(my hubby loves em), enjoy Boston's finest restaurants, and shop all week long. As long as I keep up withe success stories and ask my DM stupid questions, I'll keep fooling them all, laughing my way to the bank.

this is obviously someone trying to discredit this rep-probably someone that is not as successful or lost their job -go find something else to do-jealousy ....what a waste of time!

You are so right. Dr.'s have to see more and more patients on a daily basis. They used to tolerate pharma reps more as they knew they'd get free meals, tickets to concerts, golf outings , trips, etc. Now, they get nothing They don't even want the lunches. It's for the staff that basically schedules them thinking they can coerce the dr. into coming back--they do not feel any obligation. I get 10 minutes at lunch and many days--no time between patients, and some days 20 seconds. I won't detail them thru the window either. It's totally disrespecting them, their patients and their staff. The days are numbered. And the sunshine act stuff will soon put an end to most everything. Dr's believe what they hear from their peers, and their peers are talking about this act.

I agree--Dr.'s don't know the facts, but they have heard about this Sunshine Act, and they don't want their names published. I've tried to explain it to them, and they don't want to hear it. I used to have great access and it's not great any longer. Some of my offices just don't want to do lunches anymnore and they won't go to programs.
THe party is almost over for all of us. We need a new career.

I don't think they put much credence into it, but I think many read it. I also think they are as worried bout their jobs as we are bout ours. They come here to look for information. Most of this information is correct--at least a lot of it is.

I agree. I do think a lot come here. I'd say 40% is true. 60% isn't. But 40% isn't a bad batting percentage.

They have to be fearful of their jobs. They are only as good as we are, and they know access is so bad. They know relationships don't help as much as they used to as Dr.'s aren't getting anything from us anymore. The relationships used to have a lot more credence than they did now. I've been with Otsuka for many years, and I find my access is getting less and less even though I know these Dr.'s. They just don't have the time, and we have no new information and they get no gift cards or dinners or tickets from us. Why would they disrupt their day? I wouldn't.
