Sales Ops

Because when we transfer over to a vendor it will be the IT guys in Melville who will be involved. What do you think one day we will just say ok this is all yours know. What about our systems and data. Maybe you should think before you open your mouth

Any meeting to outsource Sales Ops would involve SF. She was in FP all week, so there goes your theory. Learn proper grammar. A couple years ago they were working on a datamart where all the feeds (like IMS) would go in. There might still be meetings on that, but that does not mean they are outsourcing Sales Ops. We probably need some automation in regular Sales Ops reports.

Dumb or not Ops is underperforming. So it wouldnt surprise me if they did out source. Regardless if this rumor is true or not I would like the sales people who frequent this board to honestly say if they are getting what they want or need from Ops. How can we continue to operate like this. For anyone defending Ops I please ask you how can you defend a rep not having ranking reports or accurate date aka Medicaid Rx mistake. Listen if wrong im wrong but dont see how its possible if we dont have certain reports and a majority of our district calls focus on what we dont have vs. strategic direction

Sales Ops should be, and will be oursourced. Just do not count on IT taking it over. Never seen a more useless group in my life. Half the staff plays computer games all day, the other half is consultants, and the person in charge hides in Floraham Park.

Not SC's fault. Who ever wrote that really is out of touch. Ever hear of the expression the "Buck stops here" He is head of Ops. He is responsible. How is it not his fault we dont have ranking reports? How is not his fault when there are mistakes after mistakes on sales reports. He generates the reports. Please alot of what is on here is BS but I will not tolerate anyone making an excuse for this guy. Spend a day in FP and you will see the goofing around, the complaining and most of all the childish games that go on. Not saying a Dept. shouldnt have problems but the Ops Dept. is one where we need a major upgrade.

All of IT should be outsourced!!! Consultants are the only ones actually working, while everyone else pretends. Nothing is getting accomplished but the consultants are getting rich. The deparment is an absolute embarassment.

Everyone says outsourcing is the solution. I don't think so. I don't think some answering service in India (or wherever the cheapest labor is these days) is going to solve our IT problems. We have weakness in IT and Sales Ops. From what I can see, they are under-resourced. It doesn't excuse the poor support we get, but it is not as simple as saying this one or that one is to blame. From talking to other reps, it seems that other companies have more people and resource ($) doing both of these functions than we do. I'm pretty sure both have asked upper management for help, but they aren't getting it. So, who's fault is it?

Its the person who runs the Dept's fault. Under resourced or not the simple things that require very little man-power like getting a ranking report on-time or getting accurate monthly reports that are already standard is not asking alot. Do you have any clue what other Ops depts. in pharma companies do? Asking for an on-time and accurate ranking report or knowing how many Rx there are for Solaraze in a territory is not asking alot. These are the simple tools one needs to run a territory. The big jobs you are talking about may require more man power but why would we invest in more man power when the person running the dept. can not even do the simple things on time or correctly. Just not sure why this dept. has been allowed to run like it has under his supervision. Just take a poll from the reps of the things they are most frustrated about and I guarantee you this will be way way up there.

I personally could care less what people say on here about people or personal attacks. I frankly think its childish and accomplishes nothing. This subject here however is a liability to our efficiency. Sales people are the ones on the front lines everyday and we bring in the Rx which brings in the $$$. Moral is low to begin with and the frustration I and many feel about what Ops delivers has and continues to be a source of anxiety. I dont trust the numbers because of all the mistakes and when I do get any reports they are always late and can not help because the data they reflect is so old that by the time I get it I can do nothing with it. I just frankly dont understand why we operate like this. I ask someone to please develop a survey for the sales force to comment on what we feel we need and what improvements we would like to see in Ops. I think the results of this survey would send shock waves through management. I for one feel we can accomplish so much more if we ust had an Ops Dept. that provided on-time and accurate data
