I am 4 years out of retirement age and want so badly to stay here but I cannot help but to think that I am living on the Titanic and we are starting to take water. Honestly, I hardly ever visit this site anymore but had to come on this evening to see what others are thinking. Most are spot on. When sales are not a priority, this is what happens. Wasn't our stock over $350 just a year and a half ago? Now, it's $219. My LTI's aren't worth anything. How are others feeling?
 


I'm not sure it's a sinking ship, there will be better days in the future, but that's a few years away. I don't think this recent RIF is the last we'll see this year. I'd look for a second round somewhere in Q3 or Q4. Just my opinion, but that seems to be where we're heading.

This! Surprisingly Basel is allowing the people that got us into this mess to plan our way out! Meanwhile nothing will change bc the RVPs love their little empires and pet projects too much to make the necessary changes!
 


The Ecosystems were designed around hospital systems, Medicare Carriers, and payers. It’s a fact that the products bringing in the most revenue are not driven by hospital systems. Someone explain why HED’s/Genentech decision makers are not understanding Vabysmo sales DO NOT come from hospital systems. The HED’s and ecosystems continuously talk about hospitals. Ophthamology/Vab has exponentially more potential than Regeneron’s Eylea but Genentech will destroy the best drug in Retina because of the structure of the organization. Put your resources where the potential is. This isn’t rocket science!
 


When the great scientists left the company 14 years ago when Roche bought us, this is what we are left with. Weak pipeline and no blockbusters in the immediate future. We are going to be a Pfizer or Merck in a few years, selling hypertension drugs and weight loss meds to primary care doctors.
 


The Titanic is correct! Unfortunately, the captain has no clue the ship has taken on a significant amount of "dead water weight" from the useless HD leadership level. Wasn't it interesting on the All Hands call to hear the HeDs and HDs were able to decide on the eliminated candidates? In many cases, they were allowed to target and cut people with bias. Here come the lawsuits! Jesus take the wheel! It's a cold dark place at the bottom and we are sinking fast.

Let me help you out you self righteous genbot. If you think hanging around this shit barge is the pathway to a bright future you are either dumb as a box of rocks or spending all your time in the company vehicle’s back seat. There is an epic failure going on in the organization and no one has the balls to say it out loud because the local leadership is a joke. They are dishonest and incapable of leading the talent in the field. We are left hoping to be rescued by a leadership that will make the changes we need. It’s gone on way to long.

If this poster is correct and someone can prove that this was actually said on the all hands call, I would agree that lawsuits might be in order. I can think of a few people who might have been targeted. “Algorithms” my a$$. This makes more sense in my ecosystem with dishonest and fake leaders.

Ok, well I call BS on our HED here.We were hoping you would have learned something about honesty and integrity? If you are a HED and turning to Cafe’ Pharma looking for support I must say your arrogance and lack of integrity are no longer shadowing your stupidity. So, you say the point was to eliminate those who wanted to be eliminated. Please remember no one could raise their hands, why? What sorcery do these 2 women bring? What blame is theirs?
HEDs & HDs in their incompetency and poor leadership have destroyed the good name of Genentech. They are nothing more than vapid figureheads without purpose. Name one thing an HED or HD has truly accomplished for the good of the organization? It’s about time to send them back under a rock and allow the true talent in the ecosystem flourish. HEDs, own what you did and patiently wait for karma to manifest.

It’s has to be true. How else do you explain what happened in Pennsylvania? This needs to be investigated and the HED needs to be accountable. The rumblings have not stopped about what seemed to be a random targeting of talent. It wasn’t! It was a planned execution. This is a confirmation of how this structure and leadership is failing us. So disappointed.

I have no clue what happened in PA but similar stories are playing out all across the nation. This model breeds corruption. From performance management, to talent development, incentive comp and rewards, ICX, interviewing, hiring and beyond we are consistently inconsistent.

We traded 8-10 TA silos for 32 Ecosystem Silos and an internal organization that never evolved with the model. There is no accountability at the PL8+ level (can you name an HED that was let go?). HDs continue to demonstrate that they can either be account managers or DMs but not both.

Individual contributors continue to quietly quit, many working multiple full time side hustles (real estate, gyms, personal trainers) and those that hustle and give 100% or voice up concerns are alienated and or silenced. This place needs a hard reset and no, the people in commercial and medical leadership that got us here cannot lead us out of it!
