The game of chess

Queens, in chess, have great power, because they can move around the board when other pieces can't. A queen sacrifice, usually happens to gain tactical advantage. Although, usually not a smart move.

Played chess a long time.

Kathy Wiiliams needs to stop flapping her jaws around the Phadia water cooler about employees! Come on Kathy you know that is not good for HR. Pretend like you have an education,k?

The game of chess, and any game you play: treat your opponent with respect. My parents taught me that.

Phadia gossips non-stops, so what? Tells you a lot, if you catch my drift.

Never ever show them your hand. Oh, that is poker.

Come-on, now. We all know home office is full of immature gossips. MS said some very horrible things about one of my friends that was completely unjustified. Others have said some very unprofessional statements about a quite a few people I know well. If HR has any legitimate credentials, then I would have a syncopal episode. They aren't problem solvers they just listen to our inept leaders.

Why do some of the trainers, and other employees at the home office speak SO SLOW and enunciate ever word. In my opinion, it comes across as very condescending and fake. People see right through that fascade and it lowers morale.

Your CSCs and other employees are intelligent and don't need hand-holding. CSCs could teach your staff a lot about the reality of the health care scene since most of you live back in the 1990s. There is such a disconnect between what you train and the reality of the medical scene in 2011. Ask any CSC who has been around awhile. Most reps I know are very sharp and know more than the trainers every will.

Home office is a great example of an inbreed culture. The entire home office staff hangs out together on Friday and Saturday nights and have each other on speed dial. There is nothing wrong with having work friends but you need to keep a level of professionalism. They cross those lines, quite literally so I'm told. Some are really good people but have been drinking too much of that toxic kool-aid, leading to a psychological phenomenon known as "groupthink".

Run your culture the way you want but in the end you will lose credible people, and respect in the community.

Good luck!

KW? What does she have to do with the game of chess? Seems very professional. One has to wonder about above poster's professionalism, K.

KW is only professional to protect Phadia's interest. She is a mere puppet and will do anything that RM's and NSM want her to do. There is no equity or fairness for employees as long as the extension/appendage of upper mgmt maintains her role. She should be named in class action suit as part of old guard.

Yep. I've talked to her numerous times about multiple issues and just got a bunch of blank stares. I can't believe she was recently promoted to senior HR. Stupidity is always given a promotion here. A real HR director attempt to create a cohesive team not the polar opposite.

List is getting longer...

This post is actually somewhat correct. I think home office (training, marketing, etc.) act like they have the answers and don't listed to the field. I'm not saying we are always right - but neither are they. By showing mutual respect and working closely together we can all accomplish more. I also agree with the "slow talk" comment - it comes across like a stage performance rather than a conversation.
