The truth. A must read if you work at Genentech!

Peckerhead- pull your head out of the sand. You can’t sell squat. Your bs couldn't compete with your own off label use of Avastin. You got smoked before you left your house at 10am each morning. You have no relationships to leverage and no one will hire you. Look at you... you just lost your job to your manager who hasn’t sold in 10 years. You better tell Mom to set an extra plate for dinner.

If any former Genentech or Roche reps would like some brief consulting work before the holidays please feel free to reach out to me. I am willing to pay $200 an hour for help with a project that requires me to have different perspectives of the oncology industry. I'm working with a client who is looking to launch new drugs in the space and could require the perspective of someone with sales experience. If interested the best email to reach me at is bmaurey@sas.upenn.edu

sounds shady

Another truth about Genentech. The food they serve in the cafeteria has plenty of estrogen. Many guys have become effeminate. Guys check your testosterone level. I’m tired of hearing these lispy voices.

The truth is sometimes hard to absorb, but needs to be told:

BioOnc will be the first to go and suffer the deepest cuts 50%-65% of sales force. DMs and RSDs are not in the loop because ALL of their roles will be eliminated(i.e. no CS, DM, RSD -- all new role categories, so everyone will have to interview). So even if you ask, they won't know. Look forward to a "pilot" announcement in the next six weeks. The structure of the upcoming pilot and what has been rolled out as HSE is a glimpse into the future structure . Don't get too comfortable as the future is 2H'21 - after AHR sales have completely fallen off cliff. BioOnc may go fully with pilot before then though, so polish your resumes folks. (If you're entire career has been in sales / sales leadership - your chance of survival is next to zero.) The rest of the field organization will suffer no later than 2H'21 - compliments of CEoF. The home office folks (including me) will suffer the same fate in 1H'21 - all new role categories here too and interviews for everyone. I plan on taking the package when it comes, as my role will be gone too.

If you question the validity of the above - read every email / G+ site you can about CEoF, C3PO, HSE, new Lucentis structure (safe unless PDS doesnt make it). All of the puzzle pieces are there - you just need to take a step back and consider all at once. The timeline, well you are just gonna have to trust me (not set in stone but I am close).

I have nothing to gain by sharing this info - I am not a cafepharma troll nor a competitor. I genuinely care about other people and I could not live with myself if I did not share what I knew about the impact these changes will have on people's lives. Hopefully word will spread from here and it will help at least a few folks. This is the only post I will make and I will not check back to answer any questions. I replied here rather than starting a new thread so it wont cause any immediate red flags in SSF.

Even if you ignore the warning above, heed this: This is a "for profit" organization and the folks leading are responsible for delivering results or their @ss is out. People will always do what is in their own best interest professionally when pushed in a corner - I don't blame them I have a family too. To that end, $9B annual revenue will be gone in three years and GNE will not get that back until 2025. Don't delude yourself - massive cuts are coming. No one is safe unless they have "VP" in their title.

You have been warned... I wish you all good luck in "Transformation"

Here’s to 2020 - it’s gonna make 2019 look like a springtime walk in the vineyard with a picnic.

Good. Genentech, oops, Roche should think about tremendously cutting my heads. There are way too many people that do nothIng and hang out at the cafeteria. Everyone thinks they work for Facebook or google. Our culture should be focused on patient. But everyone is too fucused on group think. If we are worried about people’s individual politics to exclude from a group. Then we have too much time on our hands and are not busy enough to focus on our mission. Inclusive we are not. Diversity is joke.

After more than a decade, I still do not understand why we always make things that are relatively simple so complicated that we need more people to work on them. If we just remove all these worthless projects, we can practically achieve the same results with 1/3 of the people in SSF. If we can just make people stop talking like some pseudo intellectual and remove all those fashionable business school buzz words, our conversations and email will be half the length. The sad truth is that everyone is trying so hard to act like they are smarter than they really are.

Roche is nothing but a huge bank that pretends to be a science company and their arrogance is built on huge blue blood money. All these Roche folks are pitiful when it come to making science decisions. They can not manage good products in a competitive market. Their business plan is to be the only drug for a disease state so they can rip off healthcare markets (US) for maximizing profit. Bye bye Genentech BioOncology..

The irony is that the poor souls who get stuck in these ludicrous ecosystems will forever be known as the ones who were not good enough to make it out of this dumpster fire. This grotesque act of corporate destruction can only be explained with the nonsensical and inept senior leadership. I am sure they all have the golden parachutes, as they will not be marketable after this debacle. Not even an Indian generic company will hire them.
