Time to leave

This was the last year that I will be staying here. I hung on as long as I could because our job was gratifying. It was a winning combination for many years, but my value to the company and entrepreneurial spirit is no longer "valued." Big pharma pay and management has finally reared its ugly head. Good luck in your endeavors and to Medi as the new AZ. If AZ had a brain, they would have used Medi as a promotion tool to AZ reps and not changed Medi.

Our bonus pay is beneath big pharma standards. With the amount that we manage and what our families give up, it was somehow okay in the past because we were somewhat fairly compensated. Now that the managers are drones to AZ and we are told which "boxes to check," the job satisfaction is in the toilet.
You can't be 100% to quota and make 16K for Syn. Shameful.

PIPs are on again ?

Yes, PIP's are back. The bottom 10% of the sales force currently working for the company who worked for the company 2 years ago. That's figured by averaging your product rankings over 2 years and getting an average. It isn't just the bottom 10% because many of those people "don't qualify" because the people in their position before them were smart enough to leave this company.

It isn't very upfront because we never track these numbers until it's PIP time. Once again MedImmune seriously against it's own sales force. Go ahead and get rid of the low reps Medi. Your just going to go find great reps that worked elsewhere to fill your shitty territories where your shitty products don't sell. Did it ever occur to you when the majority of a state is at the bottom that it may have something to do with the crap managed care reps you keep bringing in? Or a major thought leader that the CMM can't see and needs to work on access to?

It's amusing that no one has any comment on the truth. This company is so sad.

The time to leave was three years ago when Mike S left, he saw the writing on the wall. I followed his que and left as well. I have no reqrets and am living a better life. I find myself thinking of the friends left behind knowing you have no other option but to stay. However, keep in mind there greater things out there you can do other than kiss Dr. ass, and watch the upper management get rich off your hard work from a drug that is lowly setting into the sunset.

I left MedImmune last year and I am so happy that I did. There is much better life beyond the current MedImmune. It's nice to now work for another pharma company and feel that my job is respected by management and my peers. Pay and work/life balance is also very good.

I wouldnt expect to hear that from someone joining a pharma company: job respected ? work balance ? what planet is that company from ?

good for you.

AZ rep here. We tried to warn you about what AZ would do to you and Medi. AZ is like a cancer spreading it's vile contents on all it touches. If you think morale is bad at Medi, come over to our side for just a few days. Upper management has destroyed this company. The worst is yet to come.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, douche nozzle.

Indeed time to leave if this newly approved drug Makena is for real to prevent pre-term births.

http://blogs.forbes.com/matthewherp...revent-pre-term-birth-approved/#post_comments

Calm down. Most credible specialty pharmacies have been compounding 17-P for OB-GYN's and MFM's for yrs, so this FDA approval only gives it a "brand name <Makena>" and a "brand price". It may not be accessible to many women.

Besides it's only indicated for women with a history of pre-term births. And it's not recommended for twin/multiple births. There will still be room for your drug, just less of it.

Come April, YOU will ALL be two product reps. Changes are coming, some minor losses each rep will have thier own field territory. Enjoy.

thats for sharing, whatever it is worth. seems to make sense.

just a guess:
local bss will cover their own hospitals and community offices in a smaller geography ? and some cmm's will become local bss's, still covering hospitals but offices also, and taking on FM as 2nd product ?

minor losses might be the cmm that gets first choice and opts out of the concept due to a redundancy of local bss and cmm living in same area ?

any other guesses ?

CMM positions in "no access" areas should have been done away with a long time ago. In better access areas, the positions should not change. Minnesota, Michigan, Washington, Massachusetts should have been gone a long time ago.
