Time to leave

I left MedImmune last year and I am so happy that I did. There is much better life beyond the current MedImmune. It's nice to now work for another pharma company and feel that my job is respected by management and my peers. Pay and work/life balance is also very good.

What was your positiion here, and what is it now? Where did you go? Same geographic area? Did you move to the west coast?
how do the salary and bonus compare, if you don't mind me asking. % increase?

Our bonus pay is beneath big pharma standards. With the amount that we manage and what our families give up, it was somehow okay in the past because we were somewhat fairly compensated. Now that the managers are drones to AZ and we are told which "boxes to check," the job satisfaction is in the toilet.
You can't be 100% to quota and make 16K for Syn. Shameful.

trying to get info on medimmune. what are the bonuses like in terms of % of salary? What have you heard the industry standard is?
I thought compensation at medi as good to above average, and a significant portion of that were the benefits, bonuses, etc

Severely under-compensated. BSS for example calls on hospitals and offices. pharma compensation for this job is 100-120 base. medi paid 85-90 in the past but is now trying to bring people in at 65-70. commission is okay but impossible to make. So, when you have the "total compensation" conversation, tell them you know their goals do not take local conditions into consideration and ask for a higher base. 50% of organization does not make goal.
Good luck to you. I highly recommend against this move for you whoever you are. read cafe pharma. EVERYTHING here on our board is accurate. There is a major major morale issue. Management is very sub par. The company has no direction and has done a lay off every year for four years. Mean while they are creating FRM positions which they can not describe to us. ????????????????

Layoffs expand under a message of growth. As AZ influences more and more and with the current poor, non supportive management, without regard for results and goals cuts are taking place under the radar. PIP, you'll be lucky as it's cheaper just to cut you off for a trumped up reason.

That was most definitely the AZ way and it seems to have taken hold at MedI. You'll have no support from HR as they are one of the most worried groups as AZ could just gobble them up.
