Actually and sadly, this is not a joke. My RD so much as said so on a recent phone conversation.
This was further validated by a colleague who is in the management program when we spoke yesterday afternoon. This action is being initiated by upper level Home Office but it wasn't specific who. That doesn't matter.....if ur not in the field 8-4 ( your geographical territory) they will know. There is software in place that will provide a manager as to where, by zip code, you are. Can easily be compared to the routing that we were suppose to supply to our DSM's for verification.
So, if you are in the same zip code most or every day at 8:30 am they'll figure you haven't left your house or are dropping off the kids @ daycare/school. Same at 3 or 3:30 PM.
Manager has no option; they will be automatically sent these reports bi-weekly. These reports will be part of a managers review with RD. Managers can no longer look out for their people even the ones that sincerely want to!
This was always something doable but never initiated by management; it is for real and, from what I gather, starts next Monday.

Airwatch IS a tracking application. It is in place to track your device. The minute you try to disable it, home office will get a notification that you can't be "pinged", and your manager will then get an email as well. You don't want to have to answer the question as to why you turned it off. This is NOT a bullshit story. You can easily google the info to see what Airwatch is designed to do.
 


You people are so full of shit. In order to do anything even remotely close to something this large scale you'd need to have HR on board... BUT, to get HR on board they'd need to be competent... AND, in order for HR to be competent, we'd need Jesus & all 12 of his disciples to show up at 55 Corporate Drive.
 


YAWN! It's the "their tracking you" fellow. He's back. They can do it even easier to get rid of anyone. They call an office to verify you were there on X day at X time. If provider states no or can't remember, BINGO your gone. Simple and no tracking software needed. As the Kinks song stated, Paranoia will destroy ya!

When you think conspiracy, it is more likely stupidity. Having seen the paperwork drawn by sanofi legal dept. when I took package in 2012, they would never risk a counter-lawsuit on some tracking device. From NJ, they have to hire lawyers in your state and that costs way more than your package. When they want a bunch of people gone, they are the opposite of sneaky.

See, most sales jobs are about SALES. Other sales jobs are not really sales jobs, but promotional jobs like pharmaceutical sales; therefore, it is not about BOTTOM LINE SALES, but about how you look on the computer and how much your manager likes you.

Do you want me to explain it more?

My guess is you are not good at sales, but good at entering your calls and getting signatures, right? You probably have average to bad relationshipships with your customers, yet you manager loves you because you enter 10-12 calls a day and get 8-10 signatures a day, to prove you are "working", right?

And you probably have no clue or care about how you territory is performing, right?

The last time I was jealous of a pharmaceutical rep was when I was in college...

that was 15 years ago.

Now that I have spent a lot of time in the industry and have left....

I truly feel sorry for you and encourage you to do something more with your life.
 


Just MAKE SURE to enable airplane mode 7 am make a call (no FIDO) sig if possible even an AOP sig. Do it as u leave town and return home late in day. Turn off airplane mode where you want to be "pinged"document your location (check email, TPS, or Formtrac) then turn airplane mode back on. If they complain that you are a bad boy or girl for doing it this way, you have proof they are trying to show locations. You say I am trying to get a early call in as I go and a late call as I come home to be as efficient as possible. Apologize, let them tell you what they expect... Hunker down do what you are told. The BS is hard but still a great job. Just have fun playing chess with them. As we say in the south "ain't skeered"

1. Do your job.
2. Find a real sales job.
 


Seen your type for 20 plus years punk. Love it when "preachy pukes like you" get chewed up and spit out even though they are one of the committed ones. The rest of you folks that have large rural territories the previous tactics are just suggestion to try and help you fight the fear tactics that are rampant in our company right now. Choose who you think is right... Just work super rep who's teammates hate and that will throw you under the bus, or someone that has produced, survived and helped others to do the same. Work, yes but work smart. See ya urban punk boy.
