Someone hit a nerve. I detect a bit of a guilty conscience and this response is the first step in getting the help you need. Maybe start with field experience, a tad of common sense and a willingness to say, “I don’t know”, let’s figure it out. Emotions are high. This company is failing due to a flawed structure and poor leadership. You are not special. Trying to validate yourself as entitled due to your perception of success is exactly what’s wrong with Genentech. Focusing on previous titles or the next title with no real contribution to the people or corporate profitability is the mindset killing this once great company.
