What is the worst oncology company out there today?

Response Genetics. Hands down. Severance package, no, unique product, no, competent management NO. What a rat trap this place is.

Hey, are you the Atlanta rep we just let go after 4years of low sales numbers, despite being "a really good rep"?

Face it, you are not cut out or this job.

Now go away......let the big boys play for a bit.

I'd love to get the real deal on Response. I applied for the open Atlanta position & would appreciate truthful info & advice. Good product? Good management team & support staff? Reimbursements by major payors? Biggest competitors?
Best/worst part of the job? Can I realistically make approx $150K at plan? Any and all real advice is most appreciated.

Peace.

In my experience GSK. CIA and legal has them basically limited to a P.I. for a sales aid, if you can even get that. When there is a label change it takes weeks if not months to get an actual PI; in between you have to go to Kinko's a make copies of the electronic copy they send you. No budget, but if you had one you couldn't use it because of the "industry leading" rules they have in place regarding in-services. You can't sell competitively, since you are not allowed to mention the competitor. You don't even have any studies to show because if there is one sentence in a study that is not in the labeling it is unavailable to reps. Believe it or not, as a new hire you don't even get to see the pivotal studies. They have taken diversity to the level that a white male is unpromotable. You can't talk price or reimbursement. They won't even tell the reps what the drugs cost. Bonuses are based on test results and manager evals. I must say the people were great, but there bad business ethics has the government 10 feet up there ass. Oncology is also an afterthought since the sales barely justify a sales force.

Nope it's still Eisai...it what happened at Ariad happened at Eisai, Eisai would blame the reps for not covering the AE's of the product and blame them for the product's issues.

A vote out there for Spectrum. Company being run by the Amgen crooks that crashed Amgen, Dendreon, and Eisia. They are hiring only former Amgen individuals that have no clue how to sell Oncology. All Regional Managers except one, are from Amgen. They only know front office dealing, selling the Spread, and living in the past [successes they had with supportive care products]. They will crash Spectrum.

'Will crash'? Honey Spectrum crashed, burned and was buried a long time ago!

How about Teva Oncology? Looking to get into Oncology for 1-2 years and move on. Any insights?

If you are trying to break into oncology than yes it is a great place to gain entry and experience. If you are a tenured oncology rep (which I'm assuming your are not) than I would only consider Teva if you are out of work.
