I just extended and enhanced all over myself....
it isn't about me
I was you
goofing off
cheating the company
great access ( 20 years of relationships)
just nothing to offer the customer (except lunch and samples- sometimes)
It isn't you, me or anyone else...it is a worthless self serving industry from the sales promotion angle
of the 684000 employees in pharma 266000 will be terminated under health care reform
1 in 3 have a year
it is still only the beginning
pharma "sales" is in the death spiral....and in truth is already dead.
AGREED! This job is the worst job I have ever had.
I make 8 calls per day x 5 days per week x 50 weeks per year = 2000 calls per year
Average call is 30 seconds
30 secs x 2000 calls = 60,000 seconds
60,000 secs / 60 sec/minute = 1000 minutes
1000 minutes/ 60 minutes per hour = 16.6 hours
Add in 50 hours for 1 lunch per week (where I eat free)
total hours worked per year = 66.6 hours
pay + IC = $90,000
$90,000 / 66.6 hours = $1351.35 per hour pay rate
Plus I take care of all my kids transportation, see all their ball games, do all my shopping, dry cleaning and any other errands on company miles (and most of the time company time).
Health benefits, 401K, won Pinnacle before.
What's not to like? Oh yea and I'm saving lives.
Ditto, love it!
You have no self respect...you are worthless in this job....set yourself free, you may be a person with wonderful potential if no scruples, but don''t rationalize that you bring value to anyone other than collecting an undeserved paycheck in this job.
Place your moist, warm lips on my cold hard ass. You don't know me. Anyone who would come to this bb and expect to find truth is simply stupid.
Only made 1 sample call today at 11 going to dry cleaner, all my detail only were from 8-5:30. Last call entered as my honey was driving us to the city for the weekend.
What a job!
Whew! 3 actual calls today, exhausting.
You post this to imply that all reps do this. Your petty school girl games are transparent. You are emotionally immature in my opinion
We were just talking about you the other day. You are a legend.
Bristol-Myers Squibb Lawsuit
Following a number of landmark decisions by United States federal courts and written opinions by the United States Department of Labor, a lawsuit has been filed on behalf of "pharma reps" who were denied their overtime wages by BMS. The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, as well as other federal courts and the Department of Labor, have declared that pharma reps are not precluded from overtime pay. The Supreme Court has even weighed in by rejecting drug company appeals to overturn decisions in favor of overtime pay.
Pharma reps in the BMS lawsuit were controlled in their job of communicating BMS's company message to certain doctors. They regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week, yet were never paid additional compensation for overtime.
Plaintiffs' lawyers Joseph, Herzfeld, Hester & Kirschenbaum welcome inquiries from current or former BMS pharma reps regarding their eligibility to join the lawsuit. The Second Circuit's rulings govern these charges against BMS because the lawsuit is in New York, even though reps worked in every state. Because this lawsuit is a collective action, you must affirmatively join (opt in) to participate. Unless you are a current BMS rep, you lose time off your statute of limitations until you opt in. We also welcome inquiries from any current or former pharma rep for any company that worked in New York, Connecticut or Vermont. In New York, the state statute of limitations is long-six years. Thus, you are eligible to participate if you worked here within the last six years as a rep for any drug company.
Under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 ("FLSA"), 29 U.S.C. §201, employees must be paid time-and-a-half when they work more than 40 hours in a week unless they are found to qualify under a specific legal exemption, such as the "outside salespeople" or "administrative" exemptions. Key decisions in which courts ruled that pharma reps are not exempt under the FLSA - and are thus entitled to overtime when working greater than 40 hours in a week

This is essentially the way I look at this job. As I have posted before, I started an online business several years ago that now brings in more than my BMS pay. But BMS benefits are very good, so why leave? With my G3 iPad, taking care of business and still making 8-10 "calls" per day is a no brainer. Plus backup with another BMS rep and AZ to drive sales. I hope this gig goes on and on, but if not- what the heck.
Been with Bms over 15 yrs, have managed to buy 7 rental properties during that time. This job gives flexibility to handle almost all issues with my portfolio.
gotta hate yourself lying stealing bastard
I've won Pinnacle more than 3 times, worked my ass off in my spare time to have a real estate business. Eat me you lazy bastard, bet you are a Democrat.
A proud, working Democrat. Enjoy your Bush tax cut assh*le!
