Where are all of the reps going?

This company is hogwash. So many holes in so many areas. I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts about joining based on what we are not provided and how we are still expected to perform without the help from our managers and other departments.
Training was okay, but two weeks is a bit long based on what we learned. Every time we had a real issue or question, the main manager would always revert to staying on track because time was very important. Fake laughs and continuous correction is expected, but some people just can't hide there real thoughts and feelings behind a fake laugh.
And what is the point of having these regional meetings when nothing has changed on any of the products and detail pieces except for generic intrusion. Small company equals small budgets and not enough money to compete with the big players and competition.
And can someone please explain the difference between a CFAM and a Sales Specialist or PCP. SS AND PCPs sell 4 products while a CFAM SELLS ONE. How is that considered a higher role. Sounds like a created BS POSITION.

True on all points-- Training is a joke-- If RT had his way he'd want us to train 24/7 for 4 straight days at home with no sleep without pay and get out in the field without resources. A true leader. CFAM was created because Abbvie is cleaning our clocks in most CF centers. Aptalis wanted to create a single source for CF centers totally dedicated to them, even though we screwed up scandishake and vitamins, and have very few samples.....shocker It's a promoted position.....dont ask why. Sales specialists do EVERYTHING else, call on every doc on the call plan with every product and PCP are the leftover Quintiles people and any Aptalis person that needed a position b/c they got re-aligned and booted out a Quintiles person calling on primary care. If I had to sum this place up in one word.......cluster.

Wow. Amen bro

"These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. (Jude 1:16 NKJV)

Sounds like a sales rep, manager, or the Pharma industry as a whole. What we must do to sell our products. What am I supposed to tell an office when they ask for a sample of Rectiv or Pylera, knowing that they don't write anything and I do , in fact, have samples in my car or storage. Can I just tell them that these samples are only reserved for offices that actually wrote more than one RX in a calendar year.

You can either:
1). Get a clue b/c we don't sample rectiv
2) actually sell something by telling the office I will sample you if I can speak to the doc and tell him to get off his anus and write something
3) resign and tell Craptalis that you're going to work for a real company

Previous Poster.

I think we do sample Rectiv. So go check your storage.

How many reps have noticed an increase in accessibility issues to must see physicians in the last quarter? What about callbacks from offices in regards to insurance issues on our products? What about issues with pharmacies and them switching our product to superior products in the same class? What about an increase in Managed Care plans that do not cover our products?

What about a decrease in the amount of our bonus checks? Catch up bonuses? Increased goals without any data to show the increase? A lack of manager support when we confront them with these issues? Are managers here to help us or to lead us astray? How about attention be given to an entire team instead of a select few.

What about increased job duties without any compensation. Can corporate trainers really not handle what they have on their plate? How many corporate trainers does it take to change a lightbulb? Best answer will win a $10 gift card to Starbucks.

I used to work here, left for greener pastures. Everything you state above is the reason I started looking. I also left right when we were starting to sample Rectiv which is a death knell for that product. The only captivating thing about it was it wasn't sampled so you actually had to write a script!!! It's a one and done, so you sample that and the patient will never need a script and when they do they won't be able to afford it so the doc will switch them to something compounded. Good luck with that RT.

Serious question: Where did you go?

Where are the pastures greener? In this market a rep is a dime a dozen or less, so where is that land of milk and honey that you apparently found that the rest of us have not?

My prediction: Bullshit.

Now why would I tell you where I went, how ridiculous. You can call BS all you want, I left because I saw very little future here. I got tired of sampling mediocre products with poor formulary coverage...except for Canasa, but who knows how long that will last. RT is crazy and his little minion JT is just as crazy.....KC is less than impressive, and if you like doing reports, having sub par meds, being with a company with large demands and no infrastructure to support it, and data that's always late then you should stay here. Bad reps are a dime a dozen, the good ones.....aren't.

Sucks for you. You really kinda missed out.

"Bad reps are a dime a dozen, the good ones.....aren't."
If you are a good salesperson, then why would you still be at Aptalis? I would like to hear why?
Is it because you are actually terrible at this job and cannot get another? Or are you just lazy because getting another job requires a lot of work.
Take a look in the mirror this morning and decide.

Are you a moron? Read the previous poster.....I think he said that in fact he DID leave for greener pastures, so obviously he left, and did get another job, and put the work in to get it done.

Looks like you need the mirror sparky ....ask yourself why you can't understand a simple post, oh that could be the reason why you're still at Aptalis.....not the brightest bulb in the pack.

Also, I know a few others who are interviewing. Out of my group, we don't want to wait around. I would rather just get on with my life. I've been treated so crappy at Aptalis and I don't want to work for Forest. I truly believe the change that Brent is going to make, if he keeps the Aptalis folks, is not going to be good for us. The Forest mentality is still there. That can't be changed overnight. Plus, it's not a stable company.

This is the good ol boys club where people are promoted based on who their buddy is. Unfortunately, other good people get brushed off and pushed out of the way. It makes me sick to hear how people have manipulated and twisted things to get their way or to get something done for someone else. Sad.
