working at Masimo?

I am an experienced Capital/OR device rep sick of the OR. Have a possible opportunity with Masimo. heard great things about their products but mixed details on working there. Anyone have any feedback? Good place to work, can Mid 150's be made?
Thanks

I don't work there but have heard it is very strange. Owner is a micro manager and sicks lawyers on everybody. looked at a position way back and when I went to the web site you had to say OK to some legal liable statement to just go to their homepage. I don't go for the job buy I don't think reps there last long. I think they kinda get hired to go after a specific account and then let go. I could be wrong but that place has a bad vibe as far as I am concerned.

You will get sued & your customers will get sued-they sue everyone for anything all the time. They will sue cafepharma for leaving this post up.
A bunch of wack jobs. Don't run-FLY away!!

I'm in the exact same situation, experienced Capital/OR device rep and I'm interested in the Physician Office Territory Manager (POTM). Curious to know if there are is anyone who recently interviewed or currently or formerly worked for Masimo. It looks like a valualbe, quality product but if it is priced out of today's (Obama Care fears) market than forget it. My experience is that doctor owned facilities are extremely tight and unless their is a favorable easy to understand ROI than this position won't hold any good rep for long. Any comments are appreciated.

No domestic company has a worse reptation right now than Masimo. It's crawling with law suits inside and out. Everybody suing everybody. I've heard everything from questionable products, to clueless management, to high pressure sales and high turnover... etc.... etc. Super stinky gig here, walk away. No, run!

I work at Masimo now. Dont do it. Pay is far below what they are telling you. THey will tell you $170,000 but it is more like $100,000 and car allowance will not cover anything close to what your car will cost you. $500 month - around $275 after taxes. You will drive at least 30,000 miles a year. HEalthcare deductable is $5000 and they only contribute $1800 annually to 401k.

You are better off finding something that pays around $80,000 with a car, a good 401k, and healthcare. If you are single and fresh out of college Masimo might be a good started job...maybe. It is still hard to get past the terrible healthcare plan.

Terrible company - pulse ox is better than Nellcor but they dont pay very much on pulse ox. The comp plan is based on Rainbow (hemoglobin and breathe monitoring) and these things don't work. In addition custmers do not see a need for it. You will not make any money and regret working for Masimo. Selling pulse ox is like selling nails to a contractor - they need them but they don't really care who they get it from.

I know someone who worked there and it is a cult like enviroment. She left after 5 months. She left with a $10,000 month gaurantee on the table. Terrible company. Crazy owner. They sue everyone - customers, competitors, employees (I hear their is a class action lawsuit from employees now).
You will have to sign an agreement to get your draw that says you have to pay them back thru commisions and if you dont they will sue you - if they sue you - you are liable for Masimo attorney fees plus 10% of what you owe them. Unbelieveable!!!!!!

They have a terrible reputation - dont take the job unless you have to...

Owner is a huge Obama supporter. Invited his reps to a Democratic fund raiser at his house. You will need to make $15,000 more at Masimo to cover your increased healthcare plan that Masimo provides. I heard the pay is a big lie too.

Extremely high turnover. Reps leaving as fast as they can...some dont have jobs, they just find the unethical enviroment too distasteful. No money to be made as Masimo. they have good pulse oximetry but the other stuff is not ready for market from what i hear. terrible situation for one person I know. She is leaving as soon as she finds another job. closed 7 million in new business and only going to make $150,000. owner is a greedy iranian who sues everyone

I worked there for almost 10 months. It was worse than being unemployed. The pulse ox works well but all the other parameters that come with it are 110% bogus. They had me fibbing to doctors about the accuracy of hemoglobin and other obscure values nobody knows or cares about, for example "PVI" and "perfusion index". What is "PVI" and "perfusion index" you ask? Sorry, I couldn't tell you, nor could Jesus Christ. And I'm afraid of getting sued by the paranoid CEO Joe Kiani. That guy sues everybody, even his own corporate partners, like Phillips. He sues his employees, friends, family, the mailman, your mom, and David Letterman. Everybody gets sued every day, all day and Masimo is proud of this. They wear it like a badge. Strange? Yep. Stay clear of this company, unless you want to sell inaccurate equipment and be miserable and then get sued. Honestly, unemployment is more gratifying than Masimo. I doubt they will be around long.

The. Worst. Job. Of. My. Career. Without a doubt the worst culture of any organization I have ever seen. If someone disagrees with you, they don't just disagree with what you said, they try to destroy you professionally. Good technology, but a terrible environment. Unorganized, you wait months to get expense money back, the car allowance is inadequate. Masimo knows these comments are out here and they don't care. That should tell you something. Run, don't walk away from this place.

I worked at masimo for many years, all the above true! When the company started it was a great place to work since it went public all the "guiding principals " are nothing but crap. Do what is right, not be driven by greed and power! Hah, that is ALL they are driven by. Everyone works in an environment of fear And yes they have treated what they called independant contractors, as employees for all the years they have been in business and they are now being sued by them and Masimo will lose
big money for Their "greed". the CEO listens to his underlings and will suffer because of it.

Masimo does not have any integrity. Guiding principles my ass. Comp plan is sooo bad they presented a mid year bonus to help reps but never implemented it. All lies!!!!! cannot believe anyone still works for them. They have a guy in Atl that is the most dishonest person I have ever met. They have a serious integrity problem that will never go away under current leadership. Everyone knows there is a problem. They just gave out a small amount of stock options to reps who are highly underpaid. in 5 years no one will be here anymore. Better products than Nellcor but terrible, terrible management. Every rep I know is leaving. unless you are working here you really cannot believe how bad it is, honestly do not come work here even if you dont have a job. If you are interviewing ask to speak to other reps. Ask for 1, then ask that pesron for 3. no reps in the whole country that will say anythng positive.

Even if they do get glucose, there is no way they can launch it correctly and pay reps what it is worth. management thinks sales people are not necessary, products sell themselves, inclined to hire used car sales types for management positions. The manager in florida is the most arrogant prick have ever met. He wont last, his reps hate him. area manager is about to get fired too. Change may be on the way but the damage has been done. Find another job. current leadership cannot be trusted

I worked for Masimo for almost 6 miserable mos. I smelled the BS within 48 hours. So I immediately started looking for another job. Unfortunately it took me 5 months to find another job. Never been more ashamed in all my life as having to sell gumball machine quality sh*t tools for hospitals to use on sick patients. Out of desperation I settled for a part-time job painting truck beds. It's a hellish market out here, but I'm happy as a clam to be gone from Masimo. And we know how happy clams are.

Don't do it!!! You'll regret it right away. I work in another division and have heard terrible stories about the state of POTM division. I've been trying to leave since I started here. Finally getting close to an offer elsewhere. Everyone in my division is looking for another job too. The Hb monitors have already been taken off the market. They didn't work and everyone knew it even managers but kept selling them. Nobody can believe our CEO is getting away with it, but he is because he's young and charismatic. He's fooled everyone even the FDA I guess.

9 pin pulse ox question

Not a comment about workling at Massimo, but does anyone know what their 9-pin pulse ox will be used for? Is there a new monitor these will be hooked in to? Anti-reprocessing technology? Yes, I'm looking for intel. Thanks.
