WTF#2

Name em then! Studs or dead-wood? Let us decide if you know so much.

Are you an idiot....Doesn't matter who was let go. Why wasn't the sales force notified of possible territory eliminations. Many of us have families. Job Market is tough. If Akorn management gave us some advance warnings, the people affected could have begun their search earlier, prepared resumes, get letters of recommendations, etc. Raj & Bruce, you have sunk lower than ever before.

Good Luck to all those who were let go. You will be missed as teammates not as studs or deadwood. We are all human beings and need to remember that.

I heard it was 2 good reps, but they were not in the top 10 or 20 this year. Ranking can change so much from year to year. One year you're in the top and the next year you're in the bottom and then it flip-flops. I heard it was the manager's choice to let them go for his own reasons. So don't always blame Raj or Bruce. I know who the reps are but I don't think it's right to put their names on cafepharma. They were both smart reps and well-liked people. I think it's Akorn's loss.

It's those reps' manager who is the dead weight. I don't think he rides with his reps or does much of anything according to a rep that left last year. When I see him at the NSM in Feb I will tell him that it's a loss what happened to his reps. I wish good fortune to those reps and their families.

I'm the idiot?...it doesn't matter who was let go and then you talk about people's families?!...I'm sure those let go and their families think it matters. Dope. Also you think Akorn is going to tell you that you could be laid off so you can start to look elsewhere and ignore your territory? Double Dope.

Anybody that I know who has been laid off has been given some type of notice. This was not a firing, but a lay-off...so a notice is professional and respectable. I was part of 2 layoffs over 10 years ago, and I was given a notice both times. Those 2 reps weren't fired so it wasn't handled the way valued employees should be handled. I work at the corporate office, and see it all. That manager shouldn't be trusted. Both of those reps positively contributed to the company.

They were the only 2 oph reps laid off so we know who manager is. He is not a bad guy. Tough decisions have to be made sometimes. The 2 were good people.
"Tough decision"???!!! REALLY??!! I don't think it was tough for that manager. I have my ranking report in front of me...those reps aren't even at the bottom of the list. They're not last in their own region either. I've worked at Akorn for over 3 years, and that manager is not like the other Akorn managers at all. Glad I'm not working under him. Thankful for my manager and the better people at Akorn.

Six Acute Sales Territories were eliminated. 5 Reps gone with one retained as Acute Sales Training Manager. JB will now only handle Oph.

Some of the eliminated territories cover some major US Metro Cities. This wasn't a great idea. Who is going to cover these customers - our invisible inside sales team???
