Cardiology

Ophtha rep here. Access in eye care is generally good and we still have to fake calls to hit the stupid metric. Its a lose, lose situation no matter which division you're in it seems. This company has gone to hell in a hand basket with all these metrics.

Ophtha rep here. Access in eye care is generally pretty good and even most of us have to fake calls in order to hit the company's stupid metric. On most days I can see 4-5 targeted docs and actually have decent conversations with them, but that's not enough. They want 8-10. Never mind that I also sprinkle in a few non-target prescribers every day, talk to office managers, book lunches, talk to med techs, send rep triggered emails and PTO emails, pick up snacks and lunches for offices etc.

PCP here. I can see 7 calls a day in the metro part of my territory, but rarely that many in the rural parts. Unfortunately, there isn’t much potential in the metro part because they can just let cardiologists handle it, while all the good business is in the rural areas where they treat everything. Also, if you start looking at who are company targets, it’s ridiculous. Some targets don’t live in my territory (yes, I do constant PAIs), many are hospitalists or long term care providers I can’t see, and some are cardiology NP/PAs (yes, I do PAIs). I have some targets with such tiny potential as to be laughable. Then I have tons of offices and providers who use a fair amount of Entresto or Leqvio and aren’t targets at all. So does Novartis want me to sell or plug in the correct reach and frequency on targets? Since I may not even have a job, I’m giving up and playing the game they want.

Lol
Same thing in my division. A ton of non targets with volume they write competitors
But 12 call average for no see docs

I've had the same problem for years! So Novartis trusts me with their car, samples, credit card, and representing their products that can cure or kill folks but doesn't trust me to ID appropriate realistic targets/customers. I think Vas was created by AI and Duane is on the FBI Most Wanted List but what do I know? LOL

Funny posts ever!

Hits every problem w/ their obsession of targeted calls. I feel for you rural folks, just when I thought we urbanites had it bad. But you brutal folks will burn through the cars FAST!

Now, what is "PTO" email?

I got fed up as many of us do, and just put the calls in to keep people off my back. My manager gives 2 shits as long as the effort is there, has even subtly suggested it to our team. Docs have little need for us anyway, an unfortunate reality.

Safer to sit in car with bowl of generic fruit stars= these doctors are all no see!
As a PCP rep, I have access and work very hard. I have the numbers to prove it. My CV counterparts never leave the city they live in and have only a handful of offices they are even responsible for visiting. I’ve been working very hard for much less money all along and I’ll probably lose my job today while they keep theirs. If you aren’t working on the regular, you should step forward and volunteer to go,

You couldn't volunteer, otherwise there would have been a line hundreds of people deep. I don't work on the regular, nor will I start doing so now. Life is full of tough breaks, maybe it is best you learn that now.

Right. You are the only one in your area working. You are making a lot of assumptions about other rep in a very disparaging way. Perhaps you SHOULD be the one to go…

That’s not what I said. My cv counterparts work, but have very few call points in very small area and they definitely have more time for “planning meetings” at Starbucks. Meanwhile, PCP reps have been burning through cars trying to keep up with the targets in so many towns the company asks us to see.
The poster I quoted said they don’t work. My counterparts do as much as they can, they just aren’t asked to do as much as PCP.
The positive to today is that should change.

I also try to get into Cardiology Offices- most of the doctors will only see us during a lunch-so I bring the deep dish pizza, cookies, pies, soda, chips, wet wipes, and those bagel chips too

Give some wet-wipes to the guy hanging out in car smoking and eating generic fruit-loops. I'm guessing he could use them.
