Why would Auris post so many positions?

 

Most of them are R&D or regulatory affairs related. A few sales/expansions.

 

Because it’s as close to a robot as JNJ will get

 

And all the hundreds of million spent on Google collaborations..... down the drain

 

Why does expansion within Auris R&D spell the end of the Ethicon Google collaboration?

 

because that means the J&J $$$ is being shifted quickly to another robotic platform that is already proven. Auris originally was suppose to just be a +1 to Verb. Now that the robot is eating shit, the corporate panic is showing a massive change in marketing strategy.

Well you have to admit there is a liability when managers continue to push reps to sell products in hospitals that have known COVID patients and staff. I can attest to seeing micromanaging during this pandemic and it is easily documented.

 

Because all the openings on Verb's are now all Auris. It is the quickest robot to bring to the market, not the Google version that J&J dreamed about.

The Verb tie in makes sense. I left Ethicon a couple years ago. Still talk to my old manager occasionally who last told me that 2022 was the robot launch date and that it would have no differentiating characteristics from DaVinci. Meanwhile, my intuitive buds tell me they had so much going in R&D right now, no one will catch them. The barrier to entry is quite high and JnJ lacks the nimbleness to compete. I remember the days when JnJ had the opportunity to work with intuitive on stapling but was too proud to do so. Look how things turned out.
