AB building vandalism and arson

The news came out today that a former associate attempted to set the AB building on fire and vandalised associates cubicles.
This makes me very uncomfortable and anxious working onsite. Glad this incident did not involve shooting and that no associate was injured.

Oh come on, they were just misunderstood- he was “peacefully” protesting. He is a victim, ask Biden

this is the second time we hear about burglary in AB building and of course no communication was sent to employees. Do you really think your employees are stupid and that this act of violence against associates can be kept in hush-hush??

The bigger issue here is mental health. The vandalism was a reaction from someone who was fired from Medical Safety. There should be a thorough investigation as to why the person resorted to this behaviour. that group has had higher turnover than your average McDonalds. Abuse of power and favoritism was likely at play here. LOOK at the managers whose offices were destroyed. +++This was not random, but targeted. Two middle management members resigned around the time this individual was fired... hmmm! Direct manager should be looked at with a fine tooth comb and his manager for that manner. Bozos running that joint! You reap what ya sow. Safety needs a do-over.

Yes, the bigger issue is mental health, but you don’t support this by playing the tired blame game. Shit happens and has happened to everyone - no one should fear unstable and possibly violent retribution for conducting a business.

That’s corporate, baby. Go work at McDonald’s and learn the lesson that you have no one but yourself to blame when the fries are cold.

FYI- the suspect was fired over data integrity. So, I don't see how favoritism can lead someone to falsify records!! I hope Alcon learns and starts should doing a better job with background checks.

Falsifying records as in false data entry? Or providing false background in resume? Don’t see how a background check can help predict someone going irate. Perhaps he was set-up? Maybe the manager needs to step up his interviewing skills.

Look around you. Place is full of cowards who never had the courage to take any risks and try something different or better. Over time you end up with the weaklings who really can’t make it doing anything outside Alcon or contact lenses. Look around you and see walking ghosts.

New details have come out that it was possibly management that lead to scapegoat Blame for former employees. There was an inner circle developing and one individual who had the most information leading to resignation of these recently promoted individuals, is apparently being blamed. Security also confirmed they let this individual in, so doubt it was a former known/ disgruntled employee.

The individual Apparently blamed/accused also already has another job, apparently has a STRONG case in both EEOC and Civil court avenues and may be why Alcon is either being defensive, making false equivalents, or flat out intimidating this person away.

We all know the complaints dept located in the AB building had been a hot mess, with about 10 employees all having contributing factors... wouldn’t doubt if this was a joint group venture.

Let’s face it, Alcon has sucked in the last year and Everyone’s had their frustration. I believe there is specifics/details here we just don’t know about and Alcon may be responsible, hence the silence.

Do we really trust Alcon and how it’s been this past year ?!

TLDR: I find it odd that visiting the building and no signs of vandalism or arson present (Aug 31st). And it’s convenient for a company to be oddly silent , yet claim such a drastic thing. With no one to witness, and no evidence of aftermath

hmmmmm

Background check is to verify this crazy guy work history and to find out the reason he was fired from his previous job. This idiot caused trouble with another employee at his former job. Would you hire someone like this? I would not because It is obvious that he can not control his anger and will most likely act the same way.
