Correct most bridges that are made of old wood do burn. I lived in a culture in my very early 20s where I crossed unsturdy old wood bridges. Being young there seemed no other choice. I figured I would plummet to my death at some point. Oddly, it held up, and there was no fire. That bridge was there for over 100 years or more.
Point: everyone always thinks where there is smoke then there is fire. A complete fallacy. Smoke does not always equate to fire. You have to be astute and understand where the smoke is coming from. When you burn a bridge, in the US, travel is cut off and difficult to repair.
Years later, a swedish company built a bridge at that same village which was very sophisticated. However, they put much money into it but did not take the time to make sure it could be substainable. That bridge collapsed, and it didn't matter to the local people as they already knew how to swim around it and build new wood bridges.
At my village, I was very quick understanding the local language. It came easy to me as I'm fluent in different languages. I was unique in the village. The status quo did not like me and the progressive ideas that I discussed with local people. The "quo" quickly tried to put me in my place. Many years later the company I worked for ended up in serious trouble because they did not listen to their employees.
I agree to a certain point about cleaners. My Ex took me to the cleaners, even though he was to blame for the mess. However, in certain states it doesn't matter and justice is never served in those cases.
So many . . . . . . parallels of the universe.
