Embarrassing

Most of the people I see leave this place end up having several jobs in a short period of time. It’s laughable and shows that they will be miserable anywhere. It’s probably the wrong industry for them. Just check LinkedIn. This happened the other day. Someone was telling me how they hated Bayer but was on their 4th company in 5 years. It’s not that bad here. They are paying well and lots of launches in the next couple of years.
The industry is a shit show right now and perhaps they were laid off or they took a risk to join a company that was a start up and they did not have funding. its not that they left for something better. People don't leave one company if they are appreciated or they are respected, they don't even leave if they like the culture or feel confident that they are landing in a good place, however they do leave toxic bosses, secrecy, lack of transparency and culture all which is what Bayer is and continues to do. Bayer used to be an amazing culture and although for a couple years we did not make LTI/STI or our merit was shit, we still pushed through because we liked the people and culture we were a part of however since DSO and the secrecy that has followed, people are scared, they don't trust leadership and they feel that its better to protect themselves and leave than to stay. That said, its hard to move on because you don't know where you are going and what its all about until you start so its safe to assume the industry is a complete shit show and therefore this is why people keep moving because culture in Pharma sucks right now. so do we trust the devil we know or the devil we don't... sometimes its worth the risk to leave

This comment is written by a useless long timer at Bayer who held their position at any cost. Legacy Bayer employees are incompetent to find a job elsewhere. Stop criticizing and feeling jealous of people able to find 4 jobs in 5 years. Someone wanted to hire them and mostly make better $. Bayer is one the worst companies to work for currently. Had a great culture in the past does not make it better now. From a over 100 B $ company to below $30B in just 7 years is amazing for sure. Shows incompetency.

Can't even begin to say how stupid and worthless it is forcing an entire salesforce to learn about a product and conditions it treats that they have zero interest in or experience in. We will never have any passion about this product and when you force people to do something they do not want to do or never signed up for you will get the results you deserve by making this pathetic decision. How exactly do you think we will have any credibility with providers when you have used this approach. People in this business wonder why access is tough this is exactly why, stupid decisions like this. If Bayer leadership can't see this, they should all be fired!
Grow up and act like a professional. You’re getting paid.

Someone was quite active on CP at 11:30 today defending so many boneheaded decisions. No one is buying your BS about any of the comments on this thread or the other few. Organizations that have toxic cultures pay their people, doesn't make it any less toxic. Stop riding your high browed, I know everything horse, and look in the mirror. This place is a dumpster fire and there is evidence all over the place, you could be blind and see it. Your leadership sucks and that is why everyone is leaving. At some point BA and SG will make changes, but it may set progress back for years.

Yes, I'll take the money, but I'm so sad and lonely, my buttercup
It is often said in many of the Cafe Pharma threads that Bayer is the worst company in the pharmaceutical industry, led by ineffective leaders. The stock performance, bonuses, long-term incentives, and inconsistent short-term incentives are all disappointing, contributing to a toxic culture. As the title of this thread suggests, it's embarrassing! However, no one seems to be replaced, and the only option for many is to leave.

While we claim to pay industry average salaries, this primarily benefits those who are only capable of working at Bayer and are too incapable to find jobs elsewhere. If you take a closer look, you'll see that the only people who stay at Bayer are poor leaders who are overpaid but uninspiring, as well as employees who struggle to leave despite their efforts.

The remaining high performers are either close to retirement or simply waiting it out, and even they are considering leaving. Ultimately, the only thing we can truly control to drive real change is our ability to seek out new opportunities for better pay, a healthier culture, or possibly both.
