No go with AMGN


Not for much longer. The days of big bonuses will be long gone as soon as the acquisition/ integration is complete. Our bases are comparable to plenty of other rare disease sales forces.

It’s pretty damn close to 100%, and the bonus structure will likely change Jan 1. integration is continuing so it’s not like the clock stopped. It may be have the same structure, but the budget will change and thus the total dollars that people are able to earn will change. Amgen isn’t going to give us enough money to pay anywhere near an average of $40k a quarter which is what it was for Q1 for the GBU according to what Randy has said on 2 different calls. There will be enough budget to pay an average of $16k a quarter. Clearly Tim knew that Amgen would want to lower it since he felt the need to have it put in the scheme agreement that target bonus was guaranteed for a year.

Again, it may have the same structure in terms of how the pay is calculated, but it definitely will not have the sand dollar amounts. Goals will be set so that the average payout is $16k. They’ve already announced the beginnings of the changes of the reporting structure to Amgen in finance.

16k a quarter in pharma is still really good. Not 30k+ a quarter good like we have now. But 16k a quarter is over double what they are making at Amgen now. 64k a year in bonus is higher than 90% or more of pharma companies. Also your salary is probably higher than 90% or more of sales reps in this industry.

Will things change- of course. Will it be less money- of course. Are you still way over what most people make in this industry- yes. Jump to a start up and take a risk with RSU's that most of the time end up being worthless- but you won't make the 180k+ bases and you certainly won't make 16k a quarter at a cash strap startup.

What division are you in? Sales or internal? Because I would say in the GBU your statement is way off.
