Todd Putz doesn't like CafePharma?

First of all its obvious to me that the bashers on this board are a bunch of cowards.
You had your chance to voice your views at the meeting and you cowards kept silent . Then the minute you get home you start posting crap on an anonymous board . You have real credibility . I respect the people who were unhappy that left a lot more than small people bashing here. You probably tried to interview and got turned down and like spoiled little savages that you are you turn around and bite the only hand giving you a meal . I for one am happy to have a job . Merck is not perfect but they have treated me fairly. I thought Todd did a good job .If you are not happy go work some where else . Oh i forgot your not talented enough . You biggest talent is complaining .

I didn't wait to get home to start posting here. I was posting during the meeting. Putz....

Surfing the web looking for info on Boceprevir I came across this site. I'm out of the corporate world now having started my own company about 20 years ago -- But let me tell you, the people at the top then (I was in Insurance) were the same as you describe on this board. Basically almost all senior managements in all mature industries run their company through employee intimidation rather than leadership. It's because they don't really know how to lead, motovate or innovate. Those attributes left for the most part when the founders of the company left. From then on, it is downhill slide, particulary for the employees. Very top senior will eventually figure out a way to sell or merge their company and get out with wealth stolen from the employess who built the company. Sad but unfortunately true. What you are going through is happening at Boeing, Ford, GM, Insurance, Banking and every other major corporation.

I apologize that I'm responding to this post in July, but I just found this site. You can add IBM to that list of Fortune 100's above. IBM has seen 20 years of steady layoffs. Any exec can cut headcount to try to save their company. But the real question is does any of these big corporations exec's have the slightest idea of how to restore those fallen corporations to their former glory? I think the answer is obvious that they do not.

Of course Putz doesn't like CP....it's where everyone can read the TRUTH about him! Looking back, nothing surprises me. First to prevent people from leaving to join Vertex, Putz selected a very select group of people and gave them huge retention packages....although many said screw it I'm out of here. Then, he recently calls several people again and tells them that all is well here at Merck....what a lie! This guy could not survive outside of Merck...he'd get eaten up and spit out very quickly. He couldn't even get through an interview just based on first impressions - he's a mess. Let's just see how long the HCV/HIV boat floats. With him guiding the ship, prepare for many icebergs.

Get ready for some more interesting changes coming soon with Putz and the new HIV/HCV division. Doesn't look good for the long term for the HCV reps...sorry, but don't get too comfortable just because you were the "lucky" one to keep your job. Wish I could share more but November will be here soon!

Conversion to contract status?

Nope. You will see probably Monday or Tuesday when the announcement is made.

Huh? We just re-organized? Changes with the P man. He will be running HCV/HIV/Women's Health now? Sounds good; he deserves a lot of responsibility.

TRY AGAIN!
Unless they have another product to train HCV on, what change would happen before the end of the year? They have been saying this since last summer and every deal to have another product has fallen through. If HCV gets their act together, then guess what- you deal with change and move on. Noone has control over anything anyway. The salesforce is miserable, the territories are suffering and Riad has no clue how to motivate sales people. They've looked at pieces of paper and financials and made decisions that benefit the shareholders- the company will be suffering in about a year when they lose all of their good sales people and dissolve the relationships Merck has. Doctors are starting to see a Merck that doesn't care about patients, employees, people. The company is sinking all because of poor upper management greed.

So called "reorganizing" gives the responsible fools time to seek safer havens.....pass responsibility for lack of "success" on to others who can't defend themselves in "reviews".
Imagine if anyone actually asked we who bitch and moan so much what might be a half dozen decent changes to make ????????????????
The system would implode .

This is so true it's not funny. If anyone thinks that TP wants honest feedback because he says it or gives points when someone is honest is sorely mistaken. The above poster is 100% correct. If you give him feedback that he doesn't want to hear, you are branded a complainer and you are done. You will be shown the door in one way or another. I've seen it.
