Useless Managers

Faith Winningham, do you not understand yet that intimination doesn't work -- it just gets you passed from one employer to the next? Don't teach your mentors (as discussed) those kind of tactics. . it only causes problems for those who utilize them! YOU and your mentors who actually believe in how you manage -- Sad

Has anyone mentioned Dee (Darlene) Brown yet?

I have terrible managers in the past but this one takes the cake. Not only is she not a good manager at all, she is on medication. One moment she would be pissy and then you would see her pop some pills then she would be very giddy, and be sticking her head out the window like a dog. Man what a loser.

My question is why does
Novartis keep these managers that are causing big problems?
Is is worth it to them to have to keep investigating all these complaints and having potential lawsuits?
Why not just get rid of the managers that are
Causing the problems. There are plenty of them with this company and it's easier to get rid of 1 problem, then have potential to have many more

Michael Schucter is the best! Super motivating and doesn't have a big ego.

All I can hope is this guy is laid off with the rest of us. He is one of the worst things that has happened to Neuroscience. Not sure who is worse, him or Debbie Henderson. Both have no clue what we actually do in the field. This guy has no concept of reality, and EVERYONE dislikes working for him. Actually is Debbie even still heading up Neuro? Haven't heard a thing from her since she told us we would be having monthly salesforce teleconferences at the beginning of the year. Neuro used to be a great division with great culture and great reps. Leadership like Mike and Debbie have ruined it here.

Seems as though reps are more of a problem than the managers.

Yes there may be some reps that are problems but some of the managers that work for Novartis are bad news. Why would the Novartis be in the legal situation they are in if the managers weren't to blame. Many millions of dollars are going to be spent to retrain and revamp policies. Its certainly not the reps who are to blame.

The worst manager in Texas is SH in H-Town! He is unmotivating and a complete pompous moron. He can't figure out why he got a bad score on the recent rep survey! He is blind to his many faults and complete lack of ability.

THAT IS 100% ON. It is well known all over this city that whoever gets stuck with him after the "reduction" is screwed. Complete incompetent Moron with a Tyrant Fear based management style. Good luck not getting stuck with SH

After our meeting in little rock last week I feel sorry for the reps who have to work for the two jeff's Jeff Geweniger and Jeff Prejean in Arkansas and Louisiana. Those guys really think they are important people, you could just tell by their demeanor. Just a reminder guys, your a big pharma manager not a director or vp of some real sales job, and you're certainly a dime a dozen. My guess, neither of them could actually sell to physicians from what I saw. Loosen up guys, it's not rocket science & it's no longer Conrad the barbarian you're working under. Insecurity at it's best with those two guys.

Is Nicole McCray still with Novartis?

I heard that the company is investigating the "Situation". This means following e-mail trails, voice mails, company mobile phones, car miles and of course expense reports.

The sales team activity as it relates to Nicole McCray is also under review. This includes BDR's and coaching reports.

I hear Novartis does not mess around. Pfizer actually did give her the boot... so glad we don't have her anymore.

Any Nicole Alumni out there? Stories, thoughts?

Wow,

Good luck to all who now have Nicole McCray as your manager in the Neuro-Sales force. Less than one year with Novartis and she keeps her job?

Really, there are no quotas at Novartis? Scary, good reps-managers lost their jobs. In fact only one person on Nicole's Team kept their job? Three left before cuts and 6 reps are out.

Good news is that Nicole is expecting child, so she will be on leave soon. Oh, looks like you will never get rid of her...

Nice work Novartis, running scared, lay off loyal folks, keep the "System-Cheats" and make sure you have "So-called Diversity".

Now, can you see why the sales team is a mess.... get out now.

SO TRUE!!!!

Lets face it 99% of managers here at Novartis or in the industry as a whole are useless. There is that 1% who are actually motivating, treat you like adults and care about the overall performance of the team. Where are the 1% you ask? Well, naturally displaced! To list initials is just a waste of time. Id rather hear stories of things that some manager's have done or didnt do. That would be more interesting than listing the initials of people that most of those reading these boards have no idea who they are. I for one had 4 managers here in 4 years and I only liked and respected two of them. Hm, no wonder why those two years I actually did well. It is a known fact that when you like and respect the person you work for your performance will reflect that.

In my opinion managers should have 15 reps! If they cant handle a team of 15 they shouldnt be paid what they are.
