Who else is leaving?

is it true the new Ophth rep on LI made it less than a month before he found a better job and gave notice????

Yep, he is gone for greener pastures.....So since mid December, here is the scoreboard:

5 Acute Reps Resigned
2 Ophthalmic Reps Resigned
1 Inside Rep Resigned
2 PDI Reps Fired

Looks like our might company is getting a failing grade in personnel

PDI reps aren't really Akorn employees...they are also as interchangable as legos - so not a big deal that another one of them is gone.

As far as ophthalmic field or acute field leaving because things are tough, too bad for them. Look at any of the other boards and you'll see post after post of reps being laid off...laid off, not quitting. Here you make your money if you put in the effort and the company cntinues to GROW...elsewhere you make money (or not) and get laid off...

Not a tough choice.

Shut up and make some calls!!!

Great sales pitch..."make 80K a year with a heavy work load and unrealistic expectations but hey at least you'll never be laid off!"...The only people benefiting at Akorn are upper management who have been GIVEN boat loads of stock...not the worst job in the world but most people can do better

Well, here is how I would have hoped management would perceive the turnover situation:
You hire pdi because they will deal with keeping your sales-force stocked. And just like the regular sales-force some of the reps are very good and some are terrible. No real quality issue there.
But the real issue here is the huge turnover (as in quit) rate which will be over 50% by the end of the year.
Sales, just like any other job, has a period of time where you learn the ropes, create relationships and make forward momentum which benefits the company.
But Akorn is turning reps over so quickly that even though you are paying peanuts, and management has to deal with re-hiring and exiting of employees there is little if any company benefit to 50% of the sales-force.
I'm only a little guy here but my suggestion would be to do it right or not at all. Hey, at least get your turnover under 20%.

Now shut up and fill some open positions!

BTW....the average total cash package is nowhere near $80K this year. Try $65-70K at best.

How does any one from senior management expect us to sell in a manage care market without the proper tools. The former Merck Reps were successful in these markets, but since joining PDI/Akorn, our hands have been tied around our backs and we cannot do the job we were hired to do......Sell Product

Heard today that someone from senior management has left Akorn.....Does anyone have the 411?

Is this the same company that makes or distributes the injectable drug for executions?

Kurt left the Akorn. Senior management is now leaving what does that tell you that the rest of the sales force should do. LOOK TO LEAVE!
Wonder how many are going to leave after bonus checks come out next week. I know of 2 that will be leaving in the next two weeks. Stay to get your little bonus as you deserve it.

Another tenured acute representative has given noticed....In the past year, we have lost too many great reps. Soon the sales force will be made up of new college grads or people who got fired from other companies, but interview well.

Bon Voyage LD....I wish you nothing but the best to one of the best in acute care.

Leslie is a top rep, top producer, great sales trainer and is just another tenured representative that Akorn & our executive management let swim away. In the past year, the Acute team have lost over 40% of its sales team. The bleeding will continue and all the company does is make idiotic moves like give promotions to Brett & Nina, rather than invest in their greatest asset........The Sales Force.

Akorn is the best place to work...Any other losers who wish to leave can just resign today..
