A Superior Court judge in California ruled Monday that opioid manufacturers were not responsible for the crisis because of their misleading marketing, Stat News reports.
Three California counties, as well as the city of Oakland, sought $50 billion in damages from J&J, AbbVie, Endo and Teva, to make up for funds lost from an increase in policing and drug recovery treatment centers that had been strained during the opioid crisis.
