Acclarent

Acclarent is performing as expected. Ignore the Cyclops failure and Tula delays. Accept the fact that JNJ paid a fabulous premium for future technology! Move on to the next start-up and prosper.

Acclarent is a great company . Why. because the team is made up of the most talented and passionate people in MD&D.

Sure there are a few losers. The losers that can't sell cry and whine.

Feed the Eagles and starve the Turkeys...(losers)

Most of the messages here are from the Turkeys trotting around like fat, flightless birds.

I've lookedbut have not found. I'd love to hear about all the Great Talent that have left Acclarent and went on to Bigger and Better start ups....that list is short..and the stories are few.So hit the bricks gobblers....I got a busy day coming next month. Counting Bonus Monies $$$

Time to get a new Rolex...

Yep, I heard training is a B-I-T-C-H. Even harder than Cordis. How can anything be harder than learning the cardiovascular system? And lots and lots of paperwork. Otherwise, I have friends that work there and they are making about $200k. Bridget Ross is a joke and has no clue. She destroyed Ortho Women's Health, destroyed Ethicon Women's Health, and will destroy Acclarant. Just watch and see. Also, she LOVESSSSS BIG price increases. She will price the device out of the market.

To carry the bag at Acclarent, you need charm, charisma and moxy. You know- Look good, smell good, gold around your neck, Rolex around your wrist.

To make big $$$ at Acclarent you need an edge and an attitude. Do you want a big house ? On the big side of town ? Do you want custom made suits? How about shoes that cost more than your customer's house ?

You need to work hard, plan your strategy, and execute .

Some of the negative comments are from the misinformed and willfully ignorant. Hey Waterboy, your pails are leaking. Your not good enough to fight off the ropes, instead you hang from them. Pathetic.

My kid can sell on price, how about bringing value to the equation.

Me I'm flying jet airplanes and riding in limousines a mile long. Always have, always will....

Wow. Who is this douchebag that keeps posting? Not hard to figure out. Lemme guess RL or one of his minions? You are the type of asshole who places value on things rather than people. Wheres your fucking soul dude? Oh yeah forgot you sold that a very long time ago.
Good Selling!!!

The funny thing is this is either from someone who has a hilarious sense of humor or it is RL and/or minion. The sad thing is it is probably the latter which can explain in part one of the many problems with our company.

I got a call recently for an acclarent position. can anyone tell me the real story on what the average rep is making, not the top 20% or the bottom 20% but the real average? also what percentage of reps hit quota last year? a decent organization should be at 50-65%, anything less is troublesome. Also what about the culture here? JNJ is known for having some strict enforcement policies with HR about management, but I am reading alot of brutal stories, what's the truth. I have already worked for a company that bashes people daily, and made a ton of money, but at the end of the day it's just not worth it.

The actual amount of reps that hit plan in 2011 34 out of @135 reps. In 2010 it was I think 8-10 out of @100 reps.
Average rep previous years was around 190-200 on a comp target of 240k. This year will be more challenging. Average comp 150-160. People are looking hard. Management all depends on your manager. Some are great. Many more are total assholes and completely clueless or unwilling to accept reality.
Culture is 'so-so.' it's JnJ so you can't expect much. Upper management panicking because growth expectations can't be met. If you really need a change then come here but I don't see it improving. Especially in the face of declining reimbursement, more competition on horizon, JNJ unhappy with their acquisition of us. Be careful!!!

The company and culture has changed dramatically herein the past 2 years since the JNJ acquisition. It has been painful for most. The problem is there aren't many companies hiring right now. Management knows this and think they have us by the short ones. Reality is though people will be jumping and this company will be fucked when a ton of talent leaves.

This is spot on. There is about to be a rash of departures. Too bad they can't be proactive and change the comp plan to what we had last year in terms of no decelerators. But, they will not change a thing before its too late. Oh well.

i've been with JNJ long enough to see many acquisitions like this one. I always ask myself the question - How can the acquired company continue the success that brought them there despite JNJ corporate implementing a different set of values/policies/procedures thus affecting the patient/customer experience ?

I find it interesting that JNJ is always willing to implement "their way" in companies that have a history of success.

For example what value can JNJ bring to a company who is close to their customers and experiencing double digit growth like this one"?

WIll our way destroy exactly what made this product unique, different or attractive to the end user or customer?

As a sales rep, what is the outlook for the company in the next 2 years?

My RM told me about this board and I am amazed with the accuracy and detail of the posts. Most of the talented sales pros in the field are gone or looking. Even my RM is dejected enough to put his resume on the street! This place is a toxic waste dump.
