AIMS. Is it for real?

I was also a graduate in the second class, and have read ALL of the messages. The individuals at AIMS work tirelessly to chose, educate, and place all of the graduates. I have a great job in the device field, and could not be happier!!

For all of the people who, obviously have too much time on their hands, want to critique something that is truly innovative, and much needed in the ortho industry, put up or shut up. When you have skin in the game, it shows how serious one really is and it is a powerful tool when a company interviews you. 5000.00 is alot of money, but I invested in my future and in myself. You get out of it what you put into it.

I commend everyone at AIMS, and I am extremely excited about being in the field and in the OR. AIMS is not a placement agency, they give students the tools neccessary to be successful, the rest is up to the individual. The students will get interviews, and jobs!!!

I owe a debt of gratitude for all at AIMS, and I am eternally grateful for all that they have done for me.

For those who think you can get a job through a recruiter, GOOD LUCK!!! I have over 15 years sales experience, a college degree and have worked with some of the best recruiters in my area and got no results. It was only through AIMS that I was able to achieve my dream.

For those looking at job boards and can see that 5 years or more of OR experience is needed, AIMS is your only chance to get your foot in the ortho door, and the rest is up to you. I do not have time to read these stupid blogs, but when I heard about this I had to put my dollars worth in.

Thanks again,

Hypothetically Speaking!!!!!!!!!!

To the above post, I still don't get it...what does it say about people that were able to get these jobs without this training?

What it says is that real sales professionals don't fall for this kind of bullshit. Self motivated sellers will always be able to get the job, because we don't settle for steak knives. I've forgotten more about sales than anyone associated with the AIMS program. And yes I know you guys. Sales trainers? Everyone knows that's where you go when you can't handle sales. You go into the H.O. so you can "move up". Like the other posters said waste your money. I drop 10K in Vegas every couple of months. How? because I can sell and I know opportunity when I see it.

#63...
Opportunity???? You know opportunity? So ah, what kind of "opportunity" do you get when your dumping 10g's in Vegas? You are actually bragging about that? The only "opportunity" is when the casino owners see your big dumb mug walking through the doors...

Stoopid.

10K is what I play with while you're playing with yourself douchebag. That includes food, fun and chips -- not the chips you eat with your subway Jared special. Nice try changing the subject because you know you're beat.

I am a girl not a douche bag. Also, I changed the subject because your post was incoherent and gay, like you. The only thing that was "beat" was your meat all by yourself in your hotel room in Vegas after you lost 10g's gambling like a tool.

Stoopid. Now, go play with your blow up doll, flamer.

Sure you're a girl...that's what all you trannies say. I'm only coherent to those with double digit IQs so there you go. Now go play dress up, the grown-ups are talking.

Judging from a large portion of these posts, they must teach typing there, too! These wordy responses are amazing! Lots of passion around this topic. The poster who said "AIMS isn't for everyone" nailed it. Quit slamming it when it obviously works for many folks and the companies clearly find it beneficial!

How can you go wrong? Sounds real to me.

"Our extensive interview process allows us to pick motivated, skilled candidates who have proven their abilities... just not in orthopaedics. Our intensive training program allows us to fully prepare those candidates for a rewarding career in orthopaedic sales. Our unique program allows us to guarantee our students that if they are selected to participate, and if they successfully complete our training course, they will be placed in a job... else they pay us nothing."

Question? If this program "fully prepares those candidates" then why is this program not getting students placed? Is it the training? Or empty promises?
Either way they claim to only allow the best of the best into the program and then fully train them? So whats the problem?

Placement is not happening at the success rate they so claimed.

Not placed?

They have placed with Zimmer, Smith & Nephew, Stryker, Wright Medical, Exactech, Integra and others...

People are attending, they are learning and being placed. It appears that most do not have medical sales experience and in THIS economy, they are getting jobs and in MEDICAL!

Great for the industry, great for the top educated AIMS attendees.

Are you crazy to question them?

Guess they didn't accept you. Sorry about that.

I just have to speak my mind here after reading some of this garbage. I can tell you from my experience (as a CURRENT student) that this program is the best idea I have seen in ages. I know the industry, and I have a strong sales background. I spent MONTHS, doing resume blasters, on Medreps, and everywhere possible. I have friends and family in the industry and couldnt get my foot in the door for an interview AT ALL!

5k? Is this worth it. You d**n right it is! The one thing I have learned about this industry is you dont speculate and you do RESEARCH before you do, unlike most of you have shown no concept of.

I am grateful that the people at AIMS had the vision to offer this program when they did. They are all top notch to say the very least.

I cant wait to get in the field to run circles around most of you who spend their days speculating and spewing garbage in a forum.

Cordis?? HAHAHAHA!! The last president quit when he realized that selling Cyphers is like selling bananas...they expire really fast! Are you good at predicting which sizes of Cypher will be needed at which hospital during the last 2-3 weeks of the shelf-life?? You will miss a full week each month of face-time because you will be shuffling stents from one place to another in a desperate attempt to reduce the # you will put in the garbage. The shelf life is 3 months and the clock starts ticking a couple of weeks before anyone can actually put their hands on the product. Also, the stents are sticky...docs know the delivery is tough.

Let us know when you decide to sell the pool table to enrolls at AIMS.

PS Anyone can place a stent (I've done it myself in an animal lab...piece of cake); orthopedics and other surgical areas require true skill. Are you sure you know what you are getting into??

This was funny.

Sure thing douche, used to sell for Stryker too. True skill my ass, it's about moving product. As another poster said enjoy your steak knives, I'll throw some crumbs your way. You'll need them with the 5 Gs you wasted on AIMS.
