AIMS. Is it for real?

Hey class 2 student Jason? How is that job going? Or are you still buying into the AIMS song and dance? Still unemployed huh?

I think a medical device rep should have the balls to speak the truth and not be an ass kisser in hopes of getting a job.

Keep us posted "jason" about that dream job you can not seem to land!

I will keep my $5k and laugh all the way to the bank.

Not Jason but that's really low.

AIMS- What is the deal with this?? One has to wonder, an individual pays 5k for an education and the hope of a job. The real word here is hope. If I pay AIMS their fee, they promise me a job. They should reword it as the hope of a job. Some people involved with this place should be ashamed of themselves. They take your money, "say" you will have a job, then leave you hanging with no response of a phone call. This place is educating more students than there are jobs. Where will this end? Could there be a scheme involved here? I think so.

American Institute of Medical Scams - AIMS

AIMS - American Institute of Medical Scams

signed: your student (thank you for interview with co's with no job- dont placate me - place me- like your said you would)

Ok...Here is the deal......I've been in device for almost 3 years selling stents, PTA balloons, vena cava filters, etc.

For $5K I will let you shadow me for an entire month, it has to be FAR more productive than going to AIM's.

Think about the number of live cases you could watch with me, and the contacts you could make!

Here is the catch...there is a $35 application fee.....and I will only accept 1 apprentice a month.

How does that sound?

If you are a student, call me and complain. At this point nobody has. I will be more than happy to refund your money!

As for your post, you obviously have not been alert to see what we do hence why you probably don't have a job.

We do have 6 people that work on recruiting. You may have been in Memphis, but you have not been at the other locations.

We do have 4 trainers just at the Memphis location. You say we have 3 and 1 who has run off with your money. I would be the one which I concentrate on getting positions filled. All 4 of us work 100 hours a week and you know it!

Furniture and OR equipment, again, you only know memphis which is in excess of 500K. In addition, please feel free to come out to our Denver office and have a look. That would silence you!

3 part time employees? not true! Only Allison is part time.

1 part time former student working for us -

That is true with the exception that she is full time, was in St. Louis and interviewed and TURNED DOWN that position because she decided that her and her husband wanted to move to Memphis. I had a responsibility to place my other Memphis student first therefore I offered her a position with us while she was waiting. As a side note, she has done a fabulous job for us.

Facts, you want facts? Then expose yourself and tell me what is not true about the following.

Again first class, 3 still not placed. The unplaced three have had the following interviews

Student #1 - Turned down several interviews during class, post class has interviewed with Wright (3 different interviews and locations, Exactech, and Dallas this week)

Student #2 - Declined interview with Orthofix (wanted larger company), interviewed with Synthes, Stryker & Smith & Nephew

Student #3 - Interviews with Integra, Zimmer, Depuy and Arthrocare

Once more, I can set up your interviews but can't interview for you. All three of these unplaced students have had multiple opportunities to be placed. We should be 13 out of 13! We will keep setting up interviews until they get placed.

Class # 2 - 12 business days post graduation...

Every single student has or is in the process of interviewing with a company with the exception of one student....

Jason - Smith & Nephew
Gordon / Nancy - Zimmer, Biomet and Exactech
Robin - Stryker, Exactech
Dan - Stryker, Wright
Basel - Spinewave
Erin - Biomet, Exactech
Jim - Placed
Brett - Placed
Kendra - Placed
Brett - Smith & Nephew, Exactech
Melanie - Spinewave
Chip - Stryker, Zimmer, Wright and Asculap
Jeff - Placed
Kristen - Stryker, Exactech
Ryan - Zimmer
Patti - Thekken Spine
Elliot - In process of formal interview with Biomet (only student who has not interviewed)

Now if anyone thinks this is not progress, I would love to hear about it.

31 students with no medical experience making their dream happen!

That is 31 students to date. 30 of 31 have been in front of employers. Many have been already placed. Your crazy if you don't think this is impressive. The average student has been trying to get into medical sales over 6 months. A high percentage have not been able to secure even ONE interview prior to our school.

And yes, once more, we DO NOT sell jobs. We educate you to succeed in medical sales. We also have many connections hence why all of these interviews have been taking place.

If you're GOOD, you will be placed. Our employers love the process and are willing and ready to hire our graduates. In some cases, it may take longer than you or I would like. But in the end, you might not be happy because YOUR not placed but we have several very satisfied students.

Again, if you want a refund call me! I don't need one bad attitude ruining the experience for other students.

a classmate told me last night about the posts on this blog. I've never posted on this website before and have avoided it because the founders talked about it. after reading I sympathize with my classmates. The founders of this program are going to stretch the truth and exaggerate on their successes. understandable.

There' has been successes and students are interviewing. not all. I'll say that some of the interviews have been information interviews with no positions available. not all but enough. You can be the best and if no posiition is avail it is not going to happen.

My classmates want to be placed. The founders of this program need to stop dressing down the students. some stories may be rumor but if you talk poorly about any students what do you say behind my back? Moral is low and slipping daily. Many of us are giving up that this dream will come true. the founders are alwasy pumping the next meeting. 2 more weeks and I'm meeting with xyz. Big meeting next week. Big meeting tomorrow. im working 24/7 for you. u with me or not?

our guarantee time is up but we have spent months (some since dec) trying to make this happen and being told to hang on. I'm now about $7k out of pocket with tuition, expenses while on site. at some point you feel so foolish you dont want people to even know you have experienced this. i take responsibility for my part. some postings from people posing as someone else are no doubt the founders and degrading. and they yell at us about posting? the owners are posting and do not want students to respond. does'nt seem right.

the denver location is new. I'm only familiar of 2 recruiters who are the founders and teachers.

Maybe they've hired more recruiters I've never heard this before and I'm sure my classmates would agree. sorry group

So you say not to join? If you had to do it all over agian, would you have gone to AIMS?

Couple of questions:
1) May I sleep on your couch or in your vehicle?
2) Is a GED acceptable?
3) May I perform at least one surgical procedure during the month?
4) Will you finance the $5K?
5) Who is the celebrity you most closely resemble?

Thanks! I look forward to your responses.

Sincerely,
Interested Party

To the question by the OP - this is a crock of shit. Device companies want SALES experience not Bullshit certifications. The distributorships this poster mentions are for independent representatives, meaning you do not get a car or a salary and most often you have to buy the actually product and then try and sell it to make any money. Can you make a lot of money doing this? Yes, but it is a really rough road and the competition is fierce. I doubt AIMS is being forthcoming with exactly what they are training you for which is to have your own business, manage an inventory, seek out your own clients, be highly technical, close, manage your route and grow the business enough to pay them and pay for your supplies, gas, car, travel and entertainment expenses as well as the the products or devices you will selling.

REAL DEVICE companies that pay a salary want real RNs or Techs with Bachelors/Masters degrees or Physical Therapists with sales or capital equipment backgrounds. QUOTE]

Hey pussy-ass glorified caterer bitch-

I don't work for AIMS, but I know the orthopaedic industry and what you are describing there is a 1099 sales position, which 99% of all orthopaedic (joints, Sports Med, and Spine) are! Why, you may ask, as you ride around in your fucking taurus with a bunch of freaking boner pills in the trunk on your way to Panera Bread to pick up your 5th office lunch of the week, is this so? Because 1099 means you take full ownership of your territory and control your own destiny. Anyone who would come into a territory as the primary rep selling joints or spine and accept a salary position is an ass clown and should not be hired anyway. You're right, it is a rough road, and pharma pussy ass bitches usually can not hang. AIMS is looking to place reps under distributors, who make the investment in the area, you dipshit. These distributors are people who have busted their ass and are building their own business. Plenty of distributors clear well over $1MM, and their reps make great money, based purely on performance.

REAL DEVICE companies don't pay salaries you dumbshit. And they don't want whiny ass nurses either. They want smart, highly competitive people who will go out and kick ass and be there at 6am ready to roll on 5 total knees and come back at midnight to do a femoral nail, and get paid $300k to do it. So enjoy petting the little puppy in the primary care office and make sure you get the peanut m-m's. You don't have a clue about how different the drug game and the orthopaedic device game are.

Hey slimemouth, did they test you for brains before you were hired?

AGAIN - just because your buddies show up at the school for a tour does not make that a formal interview with an available POSITION. I heard class 3 had one guy show up for a tour in 4 weeks.
