Any word on re-org

I think you are right. The last time I posted a reply I got a message that said something to the effect that an administrator will review the content and then post. Maybe the IT higher ups (to call them leadership would be just plain wrong) are getting sensitive to whats being said. Maybe it's hitting too close to home.

Another re-org. Yes. All the same players. Nothing will change. The people that care are no longer there or are being forced out.

At last, a post of substance. Now this person really has something original to rehash. This poster should be CIO...exactly what we need...a lemming who can write and use the internet.

Basically the gist of this re-org is as follows:

-3 Regional Hubs - Raritan, Beerse and Singapore.
-If you are outside of those Country hubs or Cities for that matter, you are as good as gone
-Service Transition to be eliminated and emalgamated into both OPS and TED. Unless you are field staff, ie. Desktop support.
-Most roles to be re-defined and slatting process to occur, similar to what happened in 1st re-org.
-TED to have some responsibility and accountability finally, T3 sections to be created within TED engineering teams to handle T3 support issues
-External vendors ie. HCL, IBM, HP ect.. to be consolidated down to 2 major global vendors
-Creation of 2 Global Service Centers, 1. Brazil (Already there) 2. India Pune (Being put together now), these will have helpdesk staff and application support folks
-Timeline for the above, by end of 2010, with slating of roles being done by end of May this year.

So to summarize, it looks like Queen LC is hanging around for a little while yet and making life at J&J IT a nightmare for those who still keep their jobs through this "Re-org of Re-org of Re-org of Re-org's".... Sorry but how many have we actually had now?? Damn ive lost count!!

OpCo's may save some money in the short term, but services will be degraded and people that do stay in IT can forget about "Work & Life Balance"....

How is all of that line up with the "Credo".....

Any updates or progress on this?

Yeah. Then they'll get the lay-offs ready for just before the Holidays, like they always do. I can't wait. I think they've had lay-offs pretty much every year since around 2006 or 2007.

Yep - they will look to get a full year of employment from people, ax them by year and and not have to pay out any bonuses....

Another re-org? What could possibly be left to re-org? Why can't we just come up with an organizational structure that works? We have had four non-stop years of restructuring and we are not better off in any way, other than we are cheaper. Our businesses are beginning to realize that expenses were cut and no value was received.

Our value to the business has dwindled to almost nothing What very little morale is left in this place will be sacrificed. Please, please stop.

Can we please get a CIO who has the talent to show her value to JnJ in other ways than cost reductions and reorgs. It is all smoke and mirrors and nobody outside of IT knows enough to realize that.

It seems that LC is using these "cuts" to whittle the org down so it is small enough to completely outsource. Part of the problem with the HP transition last year was the org was too large, the tools were in place and HP would not use what was already in house, and it was too large to implement their tools in a cost effective manner.

Making so many cuts, having less employees, will allow LC to present a much smaller organization that is not performing well and get the whole group outsourced. Earning her the big bonus for "cost savings" before she bolts out the door.
