Todd Putz doesn't like CafePharma?

"Oh i forgot your not talented enough . You biggest talent is complaining ."

this is the telltale sign this is Putz. He doesn't believe and of us have talent. Heck, He said so at the meeting.

Personally I like the part of his speech where he told us that "they will put the right amount of anxiety on us" WTF does that mean? Is that a threat?

Hey Putz, without getting too personal, you make good money. How about taking some of it and investing in yourself. You know what I mean?

Unfortunately, Yes we all know what you mean.

Surfing the web looking for info on Boceprevir I came across this site. I'm out of the corporate world now having started my own company about 20 years ago -- But let me tell you, the people at the top then (I was in Insurance) were the same as you describe on this board. Basically almost all senior managements in all mature industries run their company through employee intimidation rather than leadership. It's because they don't really know how to lead, motovate or innovate. Those attributes left for the most part when the founders of the company left. From then on, it is downhill slide, particulary for the employees. Very top senior will eventually figure out a way to sell or merge their company and get out with wealth stolen from the employess who built the company. Sad but unfortunately true. What you are going through is happening at Boeing, Ford, GM, Insurance, Banking and every other major corporation.

First of all its obvious to me that the bashers on this board are a bunch of cowards.
You had your chance to voice your views at the meeting and you cowards kept silent . Then the minute you get home you start posting crap on an anonymous board . You have real credibility . I respect the people who were unhappy that left a lot more than small people bashing here. You probably tried to interview and got turned down and like spoiled little savages that you are you turn around and bite the only hand giving you a meal . I for one am happy to have a job . Merck is not perfect but they have treated me fairly. I thought Todd did a good job .If you are not happy go work some where else . Oh i forgot your not talented enough . You biggest talent is complaining .

This is funny..."I respect the people who were unhappy that left a lot more than small people bashing here". If ripping on all the people who left is respect...what does that leave for us who are still here?!? Good one Putz. A bunch of cowards? People came to you from the beginning letting you know what was needed....you ignored everything! So now you have a sales force that doesn't respect you because of that and because of your stage antics...and now we're cowards? I got a great idea for you....leave a national mvx this week and say that you don't appreciate the cowardly comments on CP....I'm sure everything will go away then. Got to get back to review my Merck policy manual...yea right!

Your post should tell anyone with a brain that big corps aren't the future for most of us. The future lies in starting one's own business whenever possible or working at young up and coming companies. Do you have any openings?;)

funny how since TP tried to defend himself earlier this thread and got beat down, no one has come to his defense. And I'm not so sure the mgrs are much happier than the reps.

to the previous poster, TP is the DCO in Hep C division

Seriously- what a bunch of crap stirrers. What would you have done with the problems HCV inherited? It was on a steep downward trajectoy even before Murphy and co. inherited it at 40%. They just accelerated the decline. When was the last time Schering (in all its WAY former glory- like before there was any competition) ever had a cohesive and coherent marketing plan, or plan for KOLS?
The only thing Merck and TP have not been able to change is the damn RediPen. Otherwise I see a bunch of people working really hard to do the right thing and to have conversations with us as adults. You feel intimidated? Overly sensitive perhaps? Do you really need to be motivated by a bunch of cheerleaders? Do you need the rah rah rah? Then go back to primary care. It sucks that we are stuck with you! And I can say for sure that nobody from my group agrees with the crap on here. Cafe Pharma is vile. Sometimes it's funny. But mostly it's a place for toxic people to spew their venom. You will never be happy because it's always someone else's fault. IMHO of course.

Well thank you so much for showing up and calming us all down. The RediPen is in danger...but you probably already know this. Genentech will have their new pen this year and that will wipe out the need for the Redipen...but I'm sure you knew that too. I don't feel intimidated and not overly sensitive....just because people note that leadership doesn't know how to lead and we comment on it doesn't mean we're "crap stirrers". Did you see Putz when Ravi made his comments on stage about the former MSL's that joined Vertex? Hilarious! His head was smoking...Ravi made a critical error by giving any credit to Vertex. It's sad that there are people like you who will just follow the flow even though things are broken. But you don't care. That's sad...you're sad.

Oh yes, of course you know SO much about me from this anonymous forum. But since you are clearly such a great leader, then surely you must know that there are always challenges. Do you think Google sits around thinking nobody will ever use one of their products when the Apple comes out with something new? Good lord, grow up.
Who cares that Todd was mad? Don't you think it means he cares? I'd be frustrated too, and I am, by the constraints of operating under Merck's policies when the other 2 main players don't have to. It gets old, but it ain't going to change.

What exactly in your perfect little world is broken simply because there are challenges? Didn't get a second IV with Vertex? I'm sure you would have been a rock star there since everything here is all that's holding you back. I'm not too sad actually- am having a damn good time getting under your thin skin. Yesterday's news-you make me snooze.

Nice rap Eminem! No....not getting under my thin skin. I think this whole thing is funny actually. I'm watching this whole division crumble because Merck has taught us that transparency isn't real...they and TP only want to hear what they want to hear. Feedback came early in 2010 and often...and sadly nothing changed. Many of the ideas should have been implemented but weren't and now morale is probably at an all-time low. TP went around trying to be rah-rah and say what a great meeting this was but people know him now...they know he's a back stabber and they don't trust him. It's crumbling down on him and I don't care anymore. I'm getting paid and will continue to do my job...no complaints there. However, it could have been so much better if TP would have listened to people who have been in this market and knew what was needed. He has destroyed his own little character...talks poorly of people who used to work here who many of us STILL like and respect (sorry Todd...they're not our enemies even though you have branded them as such)....pretends that retentions are non-sense....and stands on stage and in completely the wrong fashion condemns the salesforce. This is great!

So Emi - not under my skin.

Fantastic!!!!!! The only thing I would add to stick it to the other guy is if TP was so great and he is delivering us from bowels of the beast, why is he so demotivating? Read earlier in the thread where there were descriptions of his speech last Friday. He's an embarrassment. Being threatening and condescending is no way to lead a team into battle
