Todd Putz doesn't like CafePharma?

I just realized that everyone who posts here are colleagues. We are doomed.

Sadly I think that is the case. The attitude has changed here and I think a lot of it starts with TP. Take a look at just the last few months....One DM quit, one DM got demoted, another DM was suppose to leave but is still here, and the rest of them now "just go with the flow" or "say what TP wants to hear". When the DM gives up, the reps are done. Doomsday is upon us.

Could you possibly spend any more energy being negative? What was supposed to change (per your recommendation no doubt) that did not get listened to? I am curious for some specifics because generalities just sound like adult whining. Which is infinitely worse than kids whining because we are supposed to have outgrown that. And we have choices. Why not be mad at Vertex's clearly poor decision to not hire you?

So your friends left. Things change. As for the DM that left and the one that got demoted, I suspect there were externalities involved, and personally, it has ZERO impact on me because that's how it always goes. Things change. Adapt. Evolve. Do yourself a favor and let it go.

Seriously, do people walk the other way when they see you coming? WOT

Well Todd....I don't think anyone is going to have to tell you over and over again if you couldn't listen the first 10 times. And most of us aren't spending our energy being negative....hell....I'm having a great time trying to beat Call of Duty Black OPs! We all know you don't like whining...or any feedback that may look like you don't know what the hell you're doing. I'm happy for the people that left - they got to join a great company...if you read the post again, the person said they don't appreciate you backstabbing people and continuing to talk about them. Read your post again dippy.."Things change. Adapt. Evolve". Time for YOU to let it go TP. You see, you gave ANOTHER example of not paying attention and filtering what you want to filter. And you expect people to talk to you and tell you the truth? Sorry - you ruined that. Your behavior is not one of a true leader...time for you to move on and take some personal accountability (if you don't know that word, look it up).

Ha Ha Ha....LOL....LOL Definitely a Putz comment. WOT??? Waste of Time???? Web of Truth???? Wieners or Titties????

And yes...everyone tries to walk the other way when they see you coming!!!!
"Hey everyone! Isn't this THE best meeting you've ever been to?"
"Hi guys! Isn't this GREAT?! Probably a lot better than what you expected!"

Sure Todd....sure.

Still waiting to read about those specific changes you wanted implemented. I value your leadership, as clearly you are quite the chosen one. How could we not have seen your shining talent.
BTW- WOT is Waste of Time.
PS You bore the s*** out of me. I'm done.
Peace out.

I would love to know who this is. It has to be TP. Can't be a rep. No way a manager would defend him like this. JA.

BTW who was the mgr who was supposed to leave?

It's either TP or PK. This is pretty funny. I can remember at the beginning of the year my manager telling Todd that we needed to work to produce quality items that the offices needed and increase the marketing pieces...instead during the first part of the year we kept getting smaller quantities of supplies or none at all. TP is famous for saying "be patient"...lol.
Patience doesn't help the patients...a sense of urgency does.

Looks crowded on the Merck boards this evening...very nice! TP is grabbing for his heart pills...it appears that he is STILL on top of these boards.

And TP, it's The Chosen One for you...watch your capital letters! You couldn't see the shining talent because you're looking in the mirror too much chanting away "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and golly-gee, people like me". The only leadership you value is your own and you're pissed that you don't even have the buy in from your direct reports. Oh wait...you didn't know that? Of course not...because THEY DON'T TELL YOU THAT!!!!
You've created an environment where you aren't going to hear honesty...you're going to hear what YOU want to hear. I've seen my own manager just give up now...and it sucks! And no TP...I'm not whining...I'm stating FACTS. For some reason, I understand you take personal feedback as an attack on your character...that's not leadership...that's being a wussy (I'm keeping this board clean but you can substitute letters if you want). You're not perfect...admit it. Your show at the meeting turned more heads to the right and left because everyone was looking at each other saying "Is this guy serious???". My neck is killing me - may need to go get a massage tomorrow. OK...that's my happy ending...gotta go.

I'll jump in with a couple...

1) Nurse educators took forever to get on board. And then they're brought on when no one is being treated...smart move.

2) An objective handler was suppose to come out after a meeting to argue the Italian data that Roche was spewing...they were kicking our butts with the data and we had no "approved" response. It came out after the meeting alright...like 3 months later when no one cared anymore.

Mgr was TJ for sure. Rumor is they paid him a lot in bonuses to stay.

Bottom line is this, Merck will keep paying me, I'll do enough to get by without being hassled and since my manager is checked out, looking for another job like the rest of us and Mrs Merck Putz is too stupid to know any better, that should take about 2 days a week. Since management has no confidence in us why bother working to launch boceprevir? We will just fail anyway, right Todd? As insurance I'll buy some Vertex stock and watch it soar. Maybe I can take all of Putz's greatest motivational quotes and write a book. Things are looking up, I can turn this around, Todd, just be patient.

great thread. I just wanted to add some things TP doesn't like

-ex Schering employees
-honest feedback (no matter what he says)
-people that don't agree with everything he says
-ideas that come from anyone but his inner circle
-healthy food
-HCV reps. doesn't have faith in our abilities

Just a quick list. I'm sure others can add to it

The funny thing is that TP doesn't realize that us not liking him can do way more damage than him not liking us. FU TP

That's what you people don't understand. He doesn't care. It's not about you and your abilities, it's about him and how he "looks" He'll throw you under the bus, talk behind your back, give you a bad review, whatever he can to improve HIS situation.

Lastly and I can't stress this enough, DO NOT TRUST HIM. It's been said many times on this thread. He asks for honesty but doesn't want it. Just tell him everything is great, he's great, the meeting was the best ever, etc etc.

I just hope Vertex doesn't find out about our strategy. You know, unbranded calls, Viral replication, disease burden, etc. That would suck. And I certainly hope they don't get a copy of the viral replication video, maybe they already have? HMMM? Although I'm sure Roche will love that most of us are talking about unbranded crap instead of moving mkt share and selling.

Please, heed this advice. TP is the new prototype for the Teflon man. His stellar decisions (think promotion fallout) do not stick to him and he is oh so happy to burn anyone he can. Cheers and good selling, TP! You are a true work of art!

TJ is a quality guy. Too bad he didn't go. Too good for this POS division.

Heard there were still Vertex positions available and we lost another rep.

I agree about TJ....looks like TP got him to stay with $. Didn't think TJ would accept retention but I guess if it's an extra $40,000 - $60,000 as mentioned on previous posts than that is significant. Cheers though for those who left that behind and are moving ahead...seriously. I didn't get offered a retention and I don't think I could take one...it's got to change your relationship with the company or at least with TP. I'm not about to change who I am because I took some cash thrown my way to stay...I think extra pressure is put on you immediately. Unfortunately, a lot of people have. And even more unfortunate, it's just another reaction to things happening. Another example of this company always reacting than being proactive and creating internal strife. I think once you attempt to leave the company you should keep going...there is something telling you to leave. Staying because of a retention could be dangerous.

I heard there are only a few positions left at Vertex....congrats to LA rep....guess he couldn't stomach TP's performance at the meeting either!

TP - you are successful at one thing....driving away top talent to the competition! Too bad you couldn't get some referral bonus for your efforts!!!!
