Where are all of the reps going?

No way, he'll never get that.

Heard that the position will be filled by whomever can explain to us, without laughing, why Aptalis paid so much for Rectiv and Zenpep. Then, they need to do a role play using all three PEs, Rectiv, Canasa, Pylera, and Carafate while closing on every product. Impossible? Not for the new and well-deserved East Zone Manager spot.

Has this position been filled yet? Seems like new hires and reps that have left are kept a secret.

At a meeting right now. Why did I take this CFAM role. Tried to escape from our other products and pick up 2 more crap ones. And now no Source CF. CFAM = Can't find any motivation.

I don't know how to feel about not putting my name in for this position, just yet. Can't stand selling 5 differ products, but I don't know if I'd want to sell 2 mediocre products to CF Centers that have already written these products off. There are problems with every product, but CF Centers require that much more attention. I guess its a crap shoot either way.

So glad I left this trainwreck. Pharma sucks. Get out if you can.

Your lucky. I had some nice and honest discussions with 2 different physicians yesterday. They couldn't understand why Axcan/Aptalis would bring a product like this to the U.S. w/o the proper market research. The choice of meds for CAF have been CCBs for years with no side effects. Nitro has been 2nd choice since Big Mac tonight. They also mentioned that the overkill in marketing. With online materials, magazines, clinical articles and such are giving the wrong doctors the power to heal what they think is a CAF. Not very slick Aptalis.

Aptalis is looking for a rep and a Regional Sales Manager in St. Louis, Mo. What is everyone's take on this position, who would they work for, what is he/she like, what is now the culture of this company? Please be honest, transparent, and real. Thanks.

BS. Maybe an employee, but not a RSM. If you need a job, take it. Company has unflattering products with limited sales potential, but other than that the company's fine. We are getting new cars, but I did have one question with that. Why are the CFAMs getting the same cars as Level 4 employees? Pretty jacked up considering the CFAMs in unison don't have as many P Clubs as our handful of Level 4's. they earned those cars and CFAMS should not be entitled to the same luxury. Way to try and sell up the CFAM position Aptalis.

Rumor has it that we will be sold soon or quintiles will take over. We will work as contract reps for quintiles making half of what we make now. No company cars. Poor benefits. You don't need highly paid reps to sell these me too products. The first quintiles contract was just a test. We will become contract reps son so get ready.

400,000 CAF's in the USA annually. Brilliant. over 400 dollars for a 30 gram tube of vaseline and a small amount of nitro, brilliant. Promote Viokase and it will only hurt Creon, brilliant. Bring Ultresa back? okay brilliant. Management will push hard to boost profit margin, hope tpg sells and they can bank leaving Aptalis reps who haven't been here long screwed. Who wouldn't look for a better opportunity?

Amen.

I wish I had spoke to some of the existing Aptalis reps prior to accepting a position here. Now I feel stuck and cannot believe I left my former company for this. It all sounded very promising....small privately held company, specialty designed products, no micromanaging, family-like environment. Nothing I was told is the case. There is distrust amongst every department in the company towards the representatives. Enough has been said about the lack of innovation of these drugs at embarrassingly outlandish prices, but I was told in the interview there were 3! My manager should get the award for micro-manager of the year. Her field days are actually counter productive to my business. I assumed it would be like my former specialty experience, DM would come in and business plan, attend lunches, appts., but would not stand in crowded hallways in 30 second encounters where their presence is awkward and rude. The low pay vs. other specialty roles was a little concerning, but I assumed it was due to the small company size so I accepted the trade off. I have met some really great reps, but all have told me in confidence, as soon as I find a better opportunity I'm leaving. The company culture here is terrible....yes, it is.

Distrust towards reps = true. Mgrs just want to please RT so they'll throw their reps under a bus. We have more rules here than sales dollars. How about not getting quarterly goals until the quarter is almost over?

If feel sorry for you. I interviewed for a sales position at Aptalis as well, but did not get an offer. As it turns out, I was just a filler candidate as evidenced by the female contract recruiter based in Atlanta N E V E R got back with me on the status of the interview process, nor would she return my phone calls.

*If a person is the kind that doesn't return calls or avoids calls then have the decency not to say "I will return your call" on your voice mail greeting.

Anyway, poster....hope things improve for you.

Re: Onboarding Salary

What are the current reps with experience being offered as a salary to join Aptalis?
What is the high end you will get if they want you?

I'm hearing rumors that the reps that just got out of training are making $80K (which is more than employees that have been with the company for over 5 years) and the CFAM reps are making anywhere from $110-120K (and one of them doesn't have any CF experience...not bad for making phone calls from home all day and working on spreadsheets). Why don't the reps that still call on CF centers get a raise when they're doing the same job?

Way to shit on your current, underpaid rep Craptalis.

What ever happened to the consulting company project to look at the salaries of specialty reps to make sure we were being paid similarly?

I'm sure more people will be leaving soon (even the new hires as they feel like they made a mistake for company to this company).

They are paying people more because no one is making bonus. There are 5 reps currently over 100%. And now, all of the PE business the CFAMs and PCP reps took has not been accounted for in our goals. That's why there are only 2 regions over 100% in PE business. Live and learn should be the new mission statement.

How's Ultresa doing? Has all of the money spent on that product been recouped? Why are we losing so many managed care plans? Can anyone seriously answer these questions?
