Performance Layoffs??

Moved into non leadership roles like managed care. These were not voluntary moves and definitely not promotions.

That is what AZ does. DMs will be let go and never allowed to take a demotion, not sure why. CBD are like made men in the mafia. They rarely kill them but they will demote them into some worthless titled job letting them know that their career is over. For some reason they will protect their salary and hope that they quit. It would be hard to go from being the boss to an office dealing with managed care crap or worse, calling on accounts as an account director.

Also curious about this!! Such an awful way to handle this....and right before the holidays. Sad. They truly don’t care about their people, regardless of the so called “values” they preach. Not to mention, no announcement of it company-wide, either. That’s a heck of a lot of people to let go of without even an acknowledgement of what happened. Shows VERY little care or concern on their part. I know this is rough, tough, big bad pharma and all....but wow. Just classless. Really leaves a bad taste for people who are still here, too.

Sad to learn of this. It says a rep isn’t valued if leadership didn’t design a territory properly to start with. It’s 2018... companies should know when they are over hiring from the start... stuffing reps in areas with notoriously difficult access due to health system rules. Why don’t they stand up to Congress and get the Sunshine Act amended. Why do pharma companies over promise and over hire? Because they are short sighted. The message received is... get away from the company. You aren’t valued long term. You are instead blamed for the failures of leadership. If you have a bad year... it may be time to leave. Actions have consequences... top performing reps will likely be getting their resumes ready in January and paying attention to opportunities. No longer will they hold off considering an opportunity when their own employer demonstrates a lack of decency. Actions not words truly define company culture. Looks like the culture was clearly defined.

Amen! I’m someone who would fall into that top performer category most years thankfully - but I’m disgusted to work for a company that treats people like AZ does. I don’t want to see this done to my peers, and I know I’m certainly not immune, either!

This company used to be a great place to work - around the time P Hudson was around. Seems like since he left it’s been all downhill. No more internet reimbursement. Cell phone reimbursement cut back. Car ordering cycles skipped. No more Oc tanners. No more yearly BEMs or ANY recognition/reward. Very few special SIPs anymore. No internal promotion.

Culture here is SO sad.

Culling the herd in the name of performance. Watch leadership eat their young as these moves start to affect them. Personally I would like to meet Ruud in a back alley so I can wipe that fake smile off his face. He’s about as bad as Tilton and that is saying something.

Just stay off the radar by being an average performer and by any means, do NOT go above and beyond the call of duty for a company that clearly doesn't appreciate it anyway. Keep your DM happy by completing all necessary admin work on time, going out into the field everyday and getting along with your district members. I don't care what anyone else says, performance is 80% out of your control. If you had a "2" last year and you feel you are on the cusp of another one, start looking for another job now. On the flip side, if you are a continually strong performer, higher paying opportunities and better managed companies await you! Don't be afraid to look elsewhere. This is the new AZ. You have no idea the lengths this company will go to to help their bottom line. Get used to it as this new performance culture is just getting started! Good luck all!

The writing has been on the wall for a few years if you had 2 years of poor performance you should have started looking for a job this year. AZ isn’t committed to their employees just the bottom line. It might take some time, but I promise other companies treat their employees better, once you leave (better to leave on your own) you will see the madness from the outside and wonder why you waited so long!

I love all the comments here about shady layoffs and conspiracies. bottom Line, this is a business. Sell- perform or find a new job. If not the company will let you go and hire someone else. Don’t be foolish to think, we cannot find better talent. There’s always better talent. The company doesn’t have to have loyalty to you. Grow up! You all sound like children.
However, none of you want to face the truth. So you’ll make negative comments about this post.

What a sheep and ass kisser lol.
You are so blinded the corporate bull shit.
If you think you are safe and worth anything to the this pathetic organization that lack any sort of decent leadership ....you are just as foolish as the rest of SSLT. Az is a sinking ship. Good luck keeping your head above water.
So glad I moved on
when I did. Feel bad for the ones that were affected tho.

That is why I have been a member of the all day lie for 15 years! I fuck AZ at every opportunity! I use them, and they use me. I love it!

Truth.

I have not been with AZ or in the industry for almost nine years now. Was with the company for close to 20 years. 10 in oncology where I did 50M in sales during my tenure. No counterparts. Just me. Was bumped back to PC when onc downsized and shown the door 3 years later. I wasn't bitter. I understood that it was just a business decision that, unfortunately, impacted me in a negative way. No hard feelings towards the company or anyone involved. Until today.

Lynn Bever, on of the hardest working reps that has ever worked for the company, had over 30 years on the job. I had not seen Lynn in several years, but she had beem a mentor in mu early years with the company and we had kept tabs on eachother through social media and many, many mutual freinds.

I believe she started with Stuart, went through every merger, acquisition and layoff from ICI to AZ, and through it all was dedicated to to company, its' customers, and yes, the patients as well, unlike today's brand of reps and managers. She was an example of what a professional in this industry, at any level, should aspire to.

In most companies, someone who brought that much value and dedication to an organization, should have been allowed to go out on her own terms. Instead, I was told that Lynn was unceremoniously terminated in December for having substandard "numbers" in her last 2 years. Her first day of official "retirement" was January 1, 2019.

I just found out that Lynn passed away yesterday when a snowmobile she was driving went through the ice on a northern Michigan lake. If her 30 or 40-something DSM would have allowed her to go out on her own terms, I know Lynn would have been working right up until 5:00 this afternoon. And that sickens me.

RIP Lynn......

I don’t blame the dsm because I feel the decision was above her. But I do have a problem with a company who after 35 dedicated years terminates the way they did...We will miss you

Wow, this breaks my heart. Praying for comfort of those that knew her.
